The following morning, the Winchester's returned to the Miller household. They hadn't managed to save Roger. So now the three were following Max into the living room, Callum gripping tightly onto his father's hand.

"My Mom's resting." Max told them. "She's pretty wrecked."

"Of course." Dean nodded.

"All these people kept coming with like, casseroles." Max explained. "I finally had to tell them all to go away. You know cause nothing says I'm sorry like a tuna casserole."

Sam chuckled, Max doing the same. The teenager gestured to the couch, where Sam and Dean then sat down, Dean lifting Callum onto his lap. Max sat down in a chair across from them.

"How you holding up?" Sam asked softly.

"Ok." Max nodded.

"You're dad and your uncle were close?" Sam questioned as Callum lifted Cosmo up to show Dean.

"Yeah, I guess." Max said. "I mean, they were brothers. They used to hang out all the time when I was little."

"But not lately much?"

"No, it's not that." Max explained. "It's just....we used to be neighbours when I was a kid, and we lived across town in this house. Uncle Roger lived next door, so he was over all the time."

"Right. So how was it in that house when you were a kid?"

"It was fine. Why?"

"All good memories?" Dean asked. "Do you remember anything unusual? Something involving your father and your uncle maybe?"

Max shook his head, "What do you.... why do you ask?"

"Just a question." Dean assured him.

"No, there was nothing." Max said. "We were totally normal. Happy."

"Good. That's good." Dean nodded, looking at Callum who wasn't paying attention the conversation. He turned back to Max. "Well, you must be exhausted. We should take off."

"Right." Sam agreed as he stood up, Dean following after he'd lifting Callum up. "Thanks."

"Yeah." Max said softly.

The Winchesters headed outside, Dean eventually placing Callum down on the ground and taking his hand to keep him from running off.

"No one's family is totally normal and happy." Dean said, causing Callum to look up at him.

"We're happy!" The boy argued.

"But we're certainly not normal, Cally." Dean told him. The boy nodded in agreement, seeing what the man meant. "See when he was talking about his old house?" Dean asked Sam.

"He sounded scared." Sam said.

"He was definitely lying." Callum added. "Fear causes some people to keep things to themselves and make up whatever lies it takes to conceal the truth."

"Couldn't've said it better myself." Dean said, slightly confused at how the boy worded it. "I say we go find the old neighbourhood, find out what life was really like for the Millers."

Whilst Sam and Dean went to speak to one of the Miller's old neighbours, Callum stayed in the car, trying to make Cosmo float. When he didn't manage it, he decided to go to sleep.
