June had arrived quickly and Callum was just glad May was over. After suffering from a broken wrist and being force to stay with Bobby whilst Sam and Dean worked a case in Chicago that marked the return of John Winchester, he was completely done with the month.
But Callum was allowed back with them for a case in Texas.
So he was sat in the back of the Impala, music playing whilst Dean drove and Sam slept. Callum tapped on his dad's shoulder before pointing at Sam, and Dean immediately knew what the boy was wanting him to do.
Dean picked up a plastic spoon, gently placing it into his brother's mouth before grabbing his phone, grinning as he took a picture and turned the music up as loud as he could.
Callum laughed loudly as Sam woke up, panicking. He slapped the spoon out of his mouth, Callum still laughing.
"Haha, very funny." Sam said, turning the music down. "You're not setting a very great example for your kid, you know?"
"Sorry." Dean laughed. "Not a lot of scenery here in East Texas, kinda gotta make your own."
"Man, we're not kids anymore, Dean." Sam warned him. "We're not going to start that crap up again."
"Start what up?" Dean asked.
"That prank stuff. It's stupid, and it always escalates."
"Aw, what's the matter Sammy, scared you're going to get a little Nair in your shampoo again huh?"
"All right, just remember you started it."
"Ah ha, bring it on baldy."
"I'm a kid." Callum said. "Does that mean I'm allowed to prank you guys?"
"No!" Sam said quickly before turning to his brother. "Where are we anyway?"
"A few hours outside of Richardson." Dean replied. "Gimme the lowdown again?"
Sam grabbed a piece of paper from the dashboard before speaking, "All right, about a month or two ago this group of kids goes poking around in this local haunted house."
"Haunted by what?" Dean questioned.
"Apparently, a pretty misogynistic spirit. Legend goes, it takes girls and strings them up in the rafters. Anyway this group of kids see this dead girl hanging in the cellar."
"Anybody ID the corpse?"
"Well, that's the thing. By the time the cops got there the body was gone. So cops are saying the kids were just yanking chains."
"Maybe the cops are right."
"Maybe, but I read a couple of the kids first-hand accounts. They seemed pretty sincere."
"Where'd you read these accounts?"
Sam looked away before answering, "Well, I knew we were going to be passing through Texas. So, umm, last night, I surfed some local... paranormal websites. And I found one."
"And what's it called." Dean asked.
"HellHoundsLair.com"
Dean scoffed, "Lemme guess, streaming live out of Mom's basement."
"Yeah, probably." Sam grinned.
"Yeah. Most of those websites wouldn't know a ghost if it bit 'em in the persqueeter."
