CHAPTER 18

The stars and the moon above the sky makes this night so peaceful and beautiful. It felt like I'm dreaming, as if the stars want me to go up there and shine with them. And, the moon that flaunt peacefulness and belongingness, making me embrace this imperfect world.

"Hey..." Ryle shoved a pint of ice cream towards me.

We are now sitting outside the convenience store, enjoying our favorite ice cream flavor. Kay Ryle ko nagustuhan ang coffee crumble, he's such a coffee person talaga. And, it wasn't bad... I mean coffee crumble is underrated but it is extremely good. Lagi kaming bumibili nito kapag naisipan or gusto lang naming lumabas sa gabi. I missed doing this. Parang ang tagal na nung huling ginawa namin ito.

Really, every time you age... Without noticing, some things change.

"Miss ko na 'to." Sabi ko.

I heard him chuckled. "We're both busy but if you want to do this often, we can."

Gusto kong sabihin na miss ko narin siya pero parang hindi tama. Parang mali na kung sasabihin ko pa iyon kahit wala namang mas malalim na ibig sabihin talaga. Pero iyon din yung totoo, lagi kong kasama si Ryle kapag malungkot ako at lagi siyang pwede kapag ako na yung usapan.

He's too nice for me.

And, I missed him. So much. We were both busy, we are taking different paths right now but it's too nice that even though some things changeㅡ this, us, didn't change.

"Sure, anytime na free tayong dalawa. Sabihan mo lang ako o ako ang mag-aaya sa iyo." I said with a smile on my face.

I caught him smiling and looking up at the sky. "I'm always free for you."

I know.

"Sus!" Biro ko. "Sige na nga. Ako rin naman, Ryle. Lagi."

He smiled again and we stayed quiet while eating ice cream. It's cold but we are eating ice cream. How ironic!

You can feel the Christmas season na talaga. Na parang laging nag-uunahan ang mga tao at lahat ay may ngiti sa labi, pagod man o hindi. Although, I missed to old way and vibes of Christmas, kahit naman naging moderno ang mundoㅡ Christmas will always be our favorite holiday.

Or, at least for me. Ang iba kasi ay mas hinihintay ang New Year. Well, we are all waiting for that too.

"Tallinn..."

"Hmm?" I asked, still looking at the sky.

I heard him heaved a sighed before he speak up. "Nothing."

"Ano 'yon?" Ngumuso ako ng umiling siya. "Tell me, Ryle."

He shook his head again and smiled. That smiled is so pretty. Sure ba talaga siya na wala siyang girlfriend? Sa ngiti palang niya okay na, e! His last girlfriend is a model. Hindi na ata nasundan o si Jen?

Anj said na si Jen ang may gusto kay Ryle. So, she's not his ex-girlfriend, huh? Ano kayang mga fetish ni Ryle?

"Are you done?"

I rolled my eyes. "Almost but you didn't say what you were thinking!"

"It's alright."

I punched his arms. "Alright your face! Pa-confused! Argh!"

"Sorry," he said, smiling. "Let's go home when you finish."

Nilingon ko siya ng matapos ako at tumayo na. Itinapon ko muna ang pinagkainan namin bago kami naglakad pabalik sa sasakyan. Marami paring tao rito sa public market lalo na rito sa convenience store. Bukas parin ang ilang tindahan kahit na gabi na. Marami ring ilaw ang nakasabit at mga palamuting nagkikinangan. Ang gaganda!
