CHAPTER 26

"Ate, okay na kayo ni Kuya?" Tanong ni Vern habang inaayos ko ang mga gamit ko.

Ano mang oras ay parating na si Aza para sunduin ako. Kanina pagkatapos naming mag-usap ni Ryle ay inubos nalang namin ang oras sa paglalaro nang board game na binili niya para kay Vern. There was still a thick air but it wasn't like before. Nakakatawa naman kami ng maayos at hindi rin katulad dati na parang may sakit kung makaiwas sa isa't-isa.

I nodded and faced him. "Yeah. Sorry if it really bothered you before."

"Okay lang. It just... I felt bad for Kuya. I love him and he's hurting and seeing you two slipped away from each other hurts me. But, don't worry Ate. I understand, at least okay na kayo."

I looked at my brother with agony plastered on my face. I can feel tears are welling up in my eyes but I tried to hold them back. Vern always said that he understandㅡ Na kapag kasama ako, hindi pwede ang Kuya niya. Kung kailan wala ako tsaka lang pwede si Ryle. Ilang taon din. I hate myself because I forgot to think how Vern would feel. Na all I did was act all fine even though I knew na there was a problem. Lagi ko nalang iniiwasan. I thought I'm brave enough to decide to go for the right things but in the end I still run and chose to avoid it. God! I am very sorry for my brother and for the rest of the family.

"Oh God, come here..." I said and hugged him. "I am very sorry, Vern. Sorry hindi kita naisip. Okay na kami ni Ryle. Sorry."

After that long hug, my door creaked opened, revealing Ryle. He looked at us and smiled. God! I miss that smile! Paano namin natiis ang isa't-isa?!

"Kuya, come here. Join us." Vern said and smiled widely.

Ryle joined and hugged us tightly. He planted a soft kiss on the top of my head before he speak. I wish we could stay like this a little longer. I miss them both. I miss starting my day and ending it seeing them. Iba na talaga kapag tumatanda ka na. Maraming dapat i-priority at mas maraming responsibilities.

"Aza's already here."

I smiled. Napatango ako at niyakap muli si Vern. I  get my things at pareho nila akong inihatid sa baba. Vern greeted Aza and started to have a conversation with him. Sinamantala ko iyon para makapagpaalam kay Daddy at Tita Beth.

"Daddy..." I whispered, may kausap kasi siya sa phone.

He immediately ended the call. I run to hug him kasi super miss ko narin si Daddy. Ang higpit din naman nang yakap na ganti niya sa akin. Feeling ko baby parin ako kapag niyayakap niya ako.

"Aalis ka na?"

Napatango ako. "Opo. Nandiyan na po si Aza sa baba."

"Okay..." He smiled and kissed the top of my head. "By the way, how are you and Ryle?"

"Po?" I asked, surprised. "We're okay, Dad. Both busy kaya madalang magkita."

I don't know why I need to lied pa but seriously... I don't want to talk about it anymore. Paano kung tanungin nalang ako bigla ni Dad kung bakit hindi kami okay ni Ryle? Dahil maarte ako? Ugh! Ang hirap!

"I see." He replied.

"I have to go na po. I'll see you when I'm free. I love you!" I give him a kissed on his cheeks.

He nodded and give a warm hug again. "Tallinn... If you need me, do not hesitate to give me a call. Daddy will always have time for you, okay?"

I bit my lower lip before I nod. God! Still I'm his little girl who he is willing to protect. Still Daddy's little girl.

"Thank you, Dad. I love so much!" I whispered.

Habang nasa daan ay panay ang asar ko kay Aza. Paano kasi napakaplastik niya kay Ryle. Parang hindi pino-problema ang feelings ni Ryle kung makipag-usap dito. While, Ryle seems so genuine naman while talking to my boyfriend. I just hope that Aza stop thinking that Ryle is a threat for him. Honestly, I love him so much and I don't want him to doubt our relationship.
