Chapter 22: A goddamn puzzle (Part 2)

...Taehyung declared and everyone turned to him.
“Where? Are you sure it was this tattoo? Look at it properly” Jungkook said, intrigued. “Yes I am positive it was this same symbol. Once I see something, I rarely forget it. I just cannot seem to figure out where I have seen it before”Taehyung said, trying hard to remember. “Shake the tree of your thoughts and
hope something fruitful falls out” Hobi said. “That is very funny, Hobi” Yoongi
said, rolling his eyes. “No use wasting time waiting for Taehyung to remember.
We need to find out what this symbol means and with any luck, we would
unravel this mystery. Taehyung, if you remember anything, tell us immediately”
Yoongi said with finality. Taehyung nodded. “Can I keep a copy of this photo?”
he asked and Namjoon agreed, going off to make a copy. “Tae…” Jungkook
said, concern lacing his voice. “Yeah?” Taehyung replied, puzzled. “We found
a picture of you as a teenager in the man’s pocket. It had the words ‘KILL’
written at the back” Jungkook said softly. “What the-” Jimin exclaimed. “So the
man had come with the sole goal of killing me? Why would someone want to
kill me? I am a good person” Taehyung said, his voice shaky, and began to
leave. “Where are you going?” Jungkook asked. “Just leave me alone”
Taehyung shouted and ran upstairs to their room. Jungkook and Jimin looked at
each other and sighed. “Can I see the photo the man had in his pocket?” Jimin
asked. “Sure” Yoongi replied and handed him the photo. Jimin saw the photo
and gasped. “How the hell did the man have this photo?” he said to himself.
“Why? Maybe Jin or Taehyung’s family posted it on Facebook” Hobi said.
“That is not possible. This is the photo from our eighth grade yearbook. No one
had a copy except the school and those who had the yearbook.” Jimin explained
. “So maybe his aunt or uncle posted the yearbook photos?” Hobi suggested.
“No they didn’t. For starters it’s against school policy. And more importantly
that day marked the 4th anniversary of Taehyung’s parents dying” Jimin said,
feeling down. Yoongi glanced at Jungkook who blinked rapidly. “Are you okay
?” he asked. “I’m fine. Got something in my eye” Jungkook said and got up. “I
am going to go see what I can find out about the tattoo. Yoongi hyung, please
send off three or four of our people to go find out inside info about who the man
was. Hobi hyung, you and Namjoon need to start researching the ‘Taehyung’
angle” Jungkook instructed and left. “What would I do?” Jimin asked, pouting.
“Come with me. You know a lot about Taehyung and might be of help” Hobi
said. He started to leave with Jimin but then looked at Yoongi. “You coming?”
he asked. “Yeah. There is something I need to do first” he replied and left.
Yoongi walked up to Jungkook and Taehyung’s room and knocked on the door
softly. “Come in” Taehyung said and Yoongi walked inside. “What are you
doing here Mr. Yoongi?” Taehyung asked, surprised. “Umm…I just- I wanted
to thank you for saving my life the other night.” Yoongi said and smiled
awkwardly. “Well, you did save me first” Taehyung said and smiled. “I hope
you are okay. Jungkook won’t let anything happen to you. None of us would.”
Yoongi said and started to leave. Taehyung smiled and sat down with a sigh.“Thank you Mr. Yoongi” he said softly. “Oh and Taehyung?” Yoongi said, turning around. “Yes?” Taehyung replied. “You can call me hyung” Yoongi said and left.
