"Nothing's changed, has it?"
It's been ten years since the second class of glee club had graduated and despite all living in different places, they'd all remained in close contact. They were all doing well with their lives, all of them enjoying lives with big, exciting show biz careers or small, happy, stay-at-home lives, although this meant that they didn't get to see each other more than just a Skype call very often anymore. So finally, they'd all agreed to come together for thanksgiving at Katy and Sam's house.
A lot had happened in the years leading up to thanksgiving 2023. Quite a few couples had gotten back together, Tina and Mike, Kitty and Artie and Jake and Marley, namely. Rachel had been the surrogate for Kurt and Blaine first baby, Tracey, and Brittany and Santana had adopted twin girls, who were the same age as Eddie, who was now four years old.
At first, it was quite hard to keep up with who was pregnant, who was back together, who was married, but eventually, the chaos of adult life died down, and everyone just seemed happy.
Sam and Katy were still very happy together. They'd bought a house together just after finding out that she was pregnant was Eddie, everything was going perfectly for them. Sam was still the coach of the new directions, which was going very successfully and Katy was still the coach of the varsity glee club. They loved their jobs and they loved watching kids come and go through Mckinley Arts School with as much love for the glee club as they had.
Lizzie Susan Evans was eight years old now, she was in second grade. She was definitely a daddy's girl, just a flutter of her her deep hazel eyes that matched Katy's and she could get Sam to do anything she wanted. She was already quite musical, she loved singing loudly along to the radio with her mom and dad and after watching her dad play for so long, was desperate for him to teach her the guitar.
Eddie Hudson Evans was four years old, and he was already dancing around in his seat all the time. He especially loved it when his godfather, Mike, came to visit and he and Katy would dance around with him in the yard. He was quieter than Lizzie, taking a bit longer than her to make friends at kindergarten but with a bit of encouragement, he found a small group of people he clicked with, mainly bonding over their mutual love of playing with dinosaurs.
Despite being incredibly glad to see everyone else, there was one person Katy was ecstatic to see. Opening the door, she squealed, throwing herself into Matt Rutherford's arms, rocking back and forth, excitedly and beamed. Running over, Mike rammed into them from behind, creating a group hug they'd definitely missed having.
Being the first to break apart and speak, Matt's eyes widened as he held her at arms length, "Mike! Be careful of the baby!" He exclaimed, pointing to Katy's extremely large baby bump.
