Chapter 20

Edward picked up the phone. "Hi, this is Reverend Hawthorne. How may I help you?"

"Hi, this is Tamara Reeves, Lexi's friend."

Edward had to think a moment, "Oh yes, Alexandra's friend, the medium. Hi Tamara, I am glad you called. Alexandra has spoken very well of you and your lecture the other night was very interesting, I enjoyed the topic. You are an excellent speaker."

"Thank you, Reverend, that is very kind of you to say. I am hoping you have a couple of minutes to talk right now?"

Putting the papers in his hand down, "Sure, how can I help?"

"First, do you have time, two Mondays from now, at seven pm for Lexi and me to come over and try a soul retrieval session?"

"Let me see." Flipping through his calendar, he said, "You're in luck. That date will work. Any later, though, I'll be quite busy with the holiday season coming up. Unfortunately, Christmas seems to be a time when the elderly have more health issues and more emotional stress. The death rate seems to go up around this holiday."

"Same in my business, it increases. People miss their loved ones and want to communicate with them. Reverend, I will need a few things for you to have on hand when we do this soul retrieval. I am assuming it is okay if we come there to your place?"

"Yes, that will be fine. What do you need?" Curious about what a medium would want him to have.

"Holy water, white candles, and oil. Do you have these, or should I get some?"

Subconsciously, Edward knew what Tamara needed these items for. There was only one reason. "Yes, not a problem. I have the items, they're always here on hand. Anything else?"

"Nope, other than your spiritual talent of prayer and a strong connection to God. That will be all that I need. Pulling someone out of the Void is not an easy undertaking. We are going to need all the spiritual help we can get. See you in a couple of weeks." Tamara hung up the phone and emailed Lexi to confirm the date and time.

Edward was thinking to himself as he hung up the phone. Interesting. This should be a very enlightening experience.
