Chapter 23

In the Void, there was nothing. She had forgotten everything, but the feeling of being alone. Susannah didn't realize until this very moment how much she had missed her younger sister.

When she sat behind Lexi, and wrapped her arms around her, she was able to tap into her thoughts. And in a split second, Susannah was downloaded with a lifetime of memories that they had shared.

Susannah remembered everything as if it was yesterday. The memory of all the love that they had for each other flowed to her, as if it had the force of a dam that just broke loose. Susannah was relishing in the memories of all this love.

Faster and faster they sped through time and space towards this warm glow. The sound of the bell rang continuously, getting louder and louder as they got closer to a warm glow of light.

As the glow became larger and clearer, Susannah could make out three forms in the room. She could see a lady lying down on a couch, and two other people sitting, a lady and a man. The man was down on his knees beside the person lying on the couch, with his head bowed and hands in a prayer formation. The other lady was frantically ringing a bell.

The ringing was so loud that the noise started echoing in her head. Wishing that the lady who was ringing the bell would stop. Miraculously, at the same moment she wished it to stop, it did.

Susannah noticed that it was Reverend Hawthorne, a son of one of her father's friends, who was kneeling down beside th. . . oh goodness, that's Lexi lying there on the couch.

That was the moment that Susannah realized the gathering was for her. That these three people had come together to get her out of the Void. She couldn't believe that Lexi would risk her own insanity entering the Void, for her.

Susannah could not remember ever feeling that much love before today. It was like she had an infinite source of love and light flowing out of her powered by all the gratitude and gratefulness she had for these people.
