Sitting down, he put his elbows on his knees and his hands over his face.

Susannah had watched Billy freak out when he looked inside the bag that Lexi had given him. He was sitting so close to her that she could almost touch him.

Tears were streaming down his cheeks when his mother, Maria, rushed in. "Oh, my poor baby, what has dat aweful woman done tuh yuh? I'll kill her." Maria knelt down beside him taking his head into her hands and kissing it.

A moment later, Billy's older sister Katarina came in with her daughter Rosalina. Noticing her mother coddling her brother, she said, "What is goin' on in here and who was dat running out of here like she was on fire?"

"Come over here and give your brudder a hug Katarina, yuh two Nina, your uncle Billy needs some love." Waving for her granddaughter, Rosalina, to come and give her and Uncle Billy a hug.

Rosalina, who the family called Nina, a nickname meaning little one, came over to the couch. Her grandma's legs and big bum were in the way and she was too little at the age of five to step over her. So she went around the couch the other way. As she came around the other side, she spotted the cutest little stuffed dog. After hugging the knees of her uncle, she bent down and picked it up.

"Okay, I see yuh two need some time, I will be back tomorrow for de family dinner." She picked up Rosalina and as they left, she said to her bambina, "Bella, we will come back for dinner and yuh can see Nonna, Nonno and all your uncles and aunties."

Rosalina nodded her head and hugged her new dog tightly.

Susannah's soul, attached to the lamb, went floating down the stairs with Rosalina.

Katarina put Rosalina into a booster seat in the back seat of her new BMW. She took the toy out of Rosalina's hands so she could do up her seat belt, saying, "Where d'ja get this Nina?"

"It's my dog. It was lost and so I am gonna take care of it." She grabbed the stuffed lamb back and hugged it tightly.

"Is that so?" Katarina sarcastically asked as she got in and drove away.

Sitting beside Rosalina's car seat, Susannah looked outside the car window as they drove away from the Bakery.
