Chapter 18
The carnival music tinkled at its top volume. He was in my back hugging me while watching the staffs set up for the fireworks. We both have a cute smile in our lips as we stare at the staffs and at the dimming sky.
"Stax, I'm gonna buy some fries. Do you have some cravings or do you want to eat something?" I asked.
"Nothing on the menu." he said.
I remove his grip in my body and turn around to see his menacing emerald eyes tore into mine. I smiled and tiptoed to gave him a shallow kiss in his lips.
"I see, I'll buy now baby." I murmured sweetly.
He look at me like he disapprove, "Okay, I'll grab your fries. Stay here baby." he said as if it was final and about to leave when I hold his arms.
"Oops! Not so fast." I smiled and push him back to where he was. "Thanks for your gentleness my man, but I'll be the one who'll order the food. I can't take the guilt and conscience of letting you buy my own food. It's not equality, baby." I said and winked at him then ran as fast as I could so he won't chase me down.
Not so soon, I already have the fries in my hands with a bonus soda while walking back to where I and Stax was. A girl suddenly appeared in front of me, holding a lot of knives in her hands. I was so curious for a moment so I turn my eyes around to see if someone noticed her.
To my surprise, people seem to be very busy with their errands and whatnots that's why they didn't notice this girl. Am I the only one who could see her? Damn! I felt my limbs shake as I look at her once again. She has this dangerous smirk in her lips while uttering something I couldn't understand.
"You'll die Syden Beatrice." she whispered. The first thing I understand in her long statement.
I was afraid for the thing that will happen next. I couldn't move and I don't have the chance to move. I was as if glued and pasted here in this place so I won't be able to run. She walk towards me and sliced my cheeks.
Not so later I saw her aim the knife in my chest. "DIE!" she shouted. She aim for my chest but time stops and I was back again in my reverie.
What happened?" tanong niya.
Tinignan ko lang siya at hindi sumagot. Bumuntong hininga siya at binigyan ako ng tingin na nag-aalala.
"It's been a while since you had your nightmare." halos pabulong niyang sambit.
"It's been never." pagsisinungaling ko.
"It's been always Syden. Don't shove the lie in front of my face. I know when are you lying and when it is not."
Alam ko rin yun. Matagal na niya akong kilala dahil habang busy ang magulang ko sa paglimot sa existence ko, siya naman ay busy sa pagkilala sa akin at ganoon din ako sa kaniya.
"Obviously, I had a nightmare." I sarcastically said.
She rolled her eyes and gave me a frowning face. "Of course you had. Tinatangina mo ba ako?" tanong niya.
"Slight lang Lane," pang-iinis ko sa kaniya.
"Don't call me that!" nanggigigil niyang sabi.
"Okay Lane," asar kong muli.
