Chapter 47: Forgotten Promises
"Someday someone is going to hug you so tight,
That all your broken pieces will stick back together"
~ Anonymus
Next Day Morning...
Aman's Flat..
Guest Room..
Arnav's handsome face greeted Khushi as soon as she opened her eyes early in the morning. It was a new day, a new dawn, spreading light and hope all around to erase the darkness of the previous days.
Khushi stared at him, just stared, trying to make herself believe it was real, that he was real. Arnav was sleeping, his eyes peacefully closed, unbothered by the harsh rays of sunlight. His mouth slightly opened as he snored ever so lightly, his hair messily spreading across his forehead, making him look more innocent that Khushi had ever seen before. Khushi remembered fondly about those days in Harvard where Arnav used to land in her hostel early morning and then landed on her sofa at living room snoring..
Nothing has changed.. It seems...
Khushi smiled at the sight and remembering the past days, though Arnav used to sleep sometimes there, but she had never had a chance to look at him like this before, so close. So close, where Khushi could just stare at him and admire him. Khushi could notice the innocence instilled inside him that he hid away as soon he woke up.
Memories of the previous night flooded her mind like a wind. Khushi was alarmed, panicked, she had never ever been that close to a man, no... Once she was... When she was with Arnav in his car spending a night cuddling with each other and in her birthday night.... But those days were different and so now... They needed too much to sort out between them..
For a moment Khushi waited for the guilt, the remorse, the regret to course through her, for losing her control yesterday night but it never came. It felt right.
Khushi knew their relationship had been so, so damaged, strained than she could ever imagine. Khushi thought they were at their end, that it was over, but the events presently happened in such a way that bought her closer to her Arnav than ever before. And after yesterday night Khushi knew, they will work hard on their relationship and they will surely overcome the entire obstacle coming in their path...
Khushi knew though they were close yesterday night and shared many passionate moments, but still they were not all okay, she still was not okay. And she knew neither Arnav was.
Khushi felt herself sighing, it was too much over thinking too early in the day. Khushi tried to get out of the bed to start her day, but could not because she was locked down by Arnav. His arm was draped around her waist; his legs were crossed over her. Arnav was caging Khushi with his body, his grip was tight on her in fear that she would leave him.
Khushi tried to struggle out of Arnav's embrace but he only held on tighter, pulling her closer to himself. When Khushi did not stop moving Arnav groaned at the interruption of his sleep. One of his eyes flickered open to glare at her. His other eye followed, and his glare turned into a fascinated gaze. "Don't go", he moaned, sleepily.
Khushi smiled, " Arnav, get up. It's past eight already."
Arnav did not say anything for a while, just looked at her. His hand lightly moved to caress Khushi's face, she unconsciously leaned into his touch. "Please tell me I am not dreaming," Arnav whispered.
