His Saving Grace

It's the next day and we finally get to bring Savannah home! I'm currently getting dressed as Paul gets everything into the truck.

After I pull on a pair of black leggings and a light blue jacket and pull my hair into a messy bun. I walk back into the main room where Savannah is asleep. I pull out her going home outfit, it's a white onesie with pale pink hearts drawn all over and a pale pink beanie with a pink fuzz on top.

I gently put the outfit on her without waking her from her slumber as Paul walks in quietly closing the door behind him with her carrier. "Where do you want me to place this?" He whispers.

"Just on the bed is fine." I say looking over my shoulder. He nods his head and places it on the bed before walking over to me and kisses my cheek. I smile at him as I pick Savannah up and kiss her head gently before placing her into the carrier.

"The truck is parked up front." He says as he hands me her blanket to keep the cold out from her delicate body. I tuck her in and nod my head.

"Are we going to go see Jake?" I ask turning to my wolf. He chuckles and nods his head.

"Of course." He says wrapping his arms around my waist I wrap mine around his neck and stare into his eyes.

"Let's go." He nods his head then kisses my lips.

"I love you."

"I love you." I say hugging him. When he pulls away he grabs Savannah and I grab her baby bag after pulling on white vans. I check over the room one last time before following him out and to the truck.

He places Savannah in the backseat as I place her bag underneath her seat. He kisses my cheek when he goes to open my door. I smile at him as I climb in and he closes the door walks over to his side and starts driving to Jake's house.

"Coffee?" Paul asks with a smile. I nod my head excitedly as he drives to Starbucks and gets my usual.

"You're the bomb." I say smiling before taking a sip of the iced coffee.

"Who? Me or the coffee?" He asks playfully.

"Do you want a lie? Or a truth?" I ask with a smirk. He laughs before shaking his head. He freezes looking in the mirror over at Savannah hoping she won't wake up.

"That could have been close." He says turning down the road before you get to Jake's.

"She's fine. She's not gonna cry every time she wakes up." I say amusedly. He mock glares at me.

"I know." He says shaking his head with a smile on his face. "I haven't seen Jake since we brought him to his house."

"I hope he's not hurting." I say fidgeting with my necklace. Paul takes his hand in mine stopping me from fidgeting so much. When we pull into the driveway Billy is sitting in the doorway upon hearing Paul's loud truck.

I climb out and smile at the elder. He waves at me joyfully as I take an awake Savannah out of her car seat.

"Time to meet Jake my love." I whisper down to her. She looks at me curiously as Paul joins us closing the door as I walk up to Billy with him close beside me. "Hello Billy, meet Savannah."

"Oh she's beautiful." He coos as he takes her into his empty arms. "Hello little wolf."

"Oh I like that!" I say with a smile. He looks up at me and smiles as Paul wraps an arm around my waist.

"How's Jake?"

"He's awake. And I think he'll be fine. Doc had to break his bones again so they would heal properly." Billy says as I take Savannah back into my arms. Paul makes a face at the thought of his pack mate in pain. "Go on in there. I know he's been waiting to see you three."

"Thanks Billy." I say smiling as we walk into the home. Paul leads me to his bedroom in the back of the house where I've never been before. I smile brightly at Jake who's laying down on his single bed throwing a tennis ball in the air and catching it with his good arm.

"Don't strain yourself Jake." Paul says jokingly. Jake looks up with a smile as he catches the ball.

"Y'all came!" He says excitedly. "Help sit me up Paul. I wanna see the baby."

"Are you supposed to?" I ask worriedly.

"Yeah. Doc came a few minutes before you did and said I was fine just to take it slow for a day. He also said I could phase for a week." He says with an eye roll. I shake my head at him before looking down at Savannah.

After Paul sits him up on the bed. Jake holds his arms out to hold Savannah.

"Savannah this is Jake." I whisper to the alert baby before handing her to Jake's waiting arms.

Jake looks down at Savannah before...
