Its the next day and the battle between the New Borns has started. The doctor came in after I woke up and got dressed in comfy clothes to tell me that Savannah will be good to come out of the incubator but won't be able I go home.
I told Kim to go back to Emily's so she wouldn't be alone during this time of waiting. There's a knock at the door that gets me out of my thoughts.
"I'm gonna check over everything with Savannah and then get her out and to you." The doctor says kindly. I nod my head crossing my arms.
I bite my lip and stand to the side when the doctor nods his head in approval and writes all the notes down on his clip board.
He placed the clipboard down and takes all the wires and such off of Savannah. He picks her up gently and coos to her before turning to me.
"Here you go Ms Cullen." I take Savannah from him and feel the tears well in my eyes. "She should be good to go home tomorrow if she stays like this."
"Thank you so much." I say looking up. He nods his head with a smile before walking out of the room. I sit down on the bed and hold Savannah close as she starts to wake up.
A nurse walks in and tells me that I'm able to feed her whenever I feel like it and dress her so she won't get cold again. I dress her in a tan shirt that says "mama's favorite human" a darker shade of tan pants. After she has her main clothes on I pull socks on her feet and hand mittens so she doesn't scratch her face.
I watch her silently, anxiously waiting for the news on the battle and when my wolf will come back to me. After a few minutes of silence my phone goes off scaring me.
I look down at the screen to find Emily's name. I pick it up and answer it while checking to see if it woke Savannah up.
"Hey." I whisper into the phone.
"Hey, how are you? And why are you whispering?" She asks in a whisper.
"I'm fine and I have Savannah asleep and right next to me." I whisper fixing Savannah's blanket so it doesn't smuggle her.
"Oh! She's out of the incubator?" She asks getting excited.
"Yeah. She got out this morning." I say smiling.
"Oh that's amazing Grace! The battle is over, but Jake got hurt." She says bringing the mood down.
"What happened?" I ask nervously.
"I don't know the full details just that he's hurt and they are taking him to Billy's. Also did you know that Edward and Bella were engaged?" She asks curiously.
