Once Lexa and I got back in town we were driven to a the police station where we'd meet up with Raven and some of the agents assigned to find our children. Lexa and I were lead into a room where Raven was waiting for us with a few police officers.
When Raven saw Lexa and I, she stood up and ran towards me, stopping right in front of me. "Clarke I- I'm so sorry I really-"
I interrupted Raven by wrapping my arms around her and pulling her into a hug.
"It's ok Raven. This isn't your fault." I reassured her, rubbing her back as I tried to soothe her.
Raven then pulled away and looked at Lexa.
Before Raven could even start talking Lexa beat her to it saying; "Raven don't worry. I agree with Clarke this isn't your fault. We will find the kids."
Raven nodded her head thankfully and I gave Lexa a small smile appreciating her concern with my friend's feelings even in such an extreme circumstance.
"Are you two the parents?" A woman asked walking up to us.
"We are." Lexa and I chorused together.
"My name is agent Diyoza and we think we may have a lead on where your kids are. I'm sending a team out right now would you two like to come?"
"Yes." We both said quickly, eager to find Aden and Madi.
"Ok follow me." Agent Diyoza said, walking out of the room.
I grabbed Lexa's hand and we followed her out of the room and into a garage. We were lead to an suv and we both got in the back and sat next to each other. Agent Diyoza and another agent got in the drivers and passengers seat and started the car, exiting the garage.
My grip on Lexa's hand never loosened one bit and I started to feel sick. Lexa must have noticed because I felt her squeeze my hand.
"I need you to stay strong Clarke."
"For Madi. Yeah I know Lexa."
"No." Lexa shook her head. "For me."
I swallowed hard and turned to look in those bright green eyes I can always find comfort in. I can tell there is something different looking at Lexa. It's not stress or nerves or anything like that. There is something off.
"Lexa what is it?"
"What are you talking about Clarke?"
"What's wrong? There's is something you aren't telling me."
Lexa seemed shocked at first and she rubbed the back of her neck, clearly feeling guilty.
"There May have been someone who I just remembered hated me. I think she might be responsible for taking our children. I just didn't want you to be mad and hate me because I only just now remembered and if you hate me-"
"Lexa stop." I interrupted her. "There is no world where I can possible hate you so don't even say that. Now who do you think took our children?"
Lexa paused and closed her eyes as she said the name. "Nia Azgeda."
"Who is that Lexa?"
"She was the woman who ran Firestrom before my parents died and I took over. She was angry about me inheriting the company but I haven't heard from her in years. It doesn't make sense I can't believe she would do this. Also why wait so long? It's been years. I mean I can't even tell you how sorry I am Clarke I never knew this could happen I just-"
"Lexa don't apologize. You didn't kidnap our children."
I was taken aback a little when I saw Lexa smile. I raised an eyebrow super confused with her behavior but she quickly explained.
"It just Uh...it kind of sounds like we are a couple from an outside point of view. We aren't the parents and it's our children and I don't know it sounds like that a little bit." Lexa shrugged, turning to look out the window so she wouldn't see my reaction.
"Lexa the thought of being in a relationship with you isn't a particularly bad thought, but now probably isn't the best time to be fantasizing about that." I smiled, jokingly shaking my head disapprovingly.
Lexa turned her head again to look at me. "Clarke I'm literally ALWAYS fantasizing about us."
I saw that Lexa immediately regretted the words that came out of her mouth with the change of color in her cheeks and the expression on her face, but before I could say something in response the car was parked and we realized we had to get out.
"Agent Diyoza!" A voice yelled from across the parking lot. "We found them!"
I looked at Lexa with wide eyes and then back at the agent and without saying another word, or waiting a second longer, Lexa and I took off running forwards, ready to see Madi and Aden again.
An: I know this was short but it was important for the story...next part should be out kind of soon with emphasis on the "kind of"
