"Do you guys hear that?" Octavia asked, suddenly standing from the couch. We all tried to stay quiet and listen to what Octavia was hearing. There were loud engine like sounds coming from outside.

My first thought was cars approaching and I quickly went into protective mom mode.

"Aden and Madi come with me." I instructed, standing up and holding my hands out so they could each hold one of my hands.

"Where are we going?" Madi asked grabbing my hand, clearly scared with my strange directions.

"We are going to go watch tv upstairs." I told her, walking the two up the stair case quickly.

We walked into the lounge and I put Madi and Aden on the couch and then went to turn on the tv, turning the volume much louder then I usually would so the kids wouldn't hear whatever was going to happen downstairs.

After turning the tv on I was about to walk out of the room but Madi stopped me, speaking up and asking the question I dreaded.

"Mommy? Where are you going?"

"I have to take care of some quick grownup things downstairs but I'll be right back ok?"

I watched as Madi and Aden nodded their heads and then turned their focus back to the tv. I let out a relieved sigh and walked out of the room making sure to shut the door behind me.

I ran downstairs and saw everyone else waiting for me. Raven and Murphy had their baseball bats again and Ontari and Lexa were looking out the window. I moved to stand by them and was pleased when I realized I could hear the tv show from downstairs. If Nia and Finn come in I don't want Madi and Aden hearing whatever happens. I have to protect them.

"The tv. That was smart." Lexa commented, her eyes still scanning the outside area around the window.

"I did what I had to do. Hopefully they stay there." I answered. We continued to survey the land around the lake house and then suddenly I watched as 2 big SUV's came info view.

"Shit, that probably them. Get down." Lexa ordered, and everyone downstairs followed her orders, crouching down against the wall so we couldn't be spotted through any of the windows.

We heard car doors slam shut and then the sound of heavy footsteps growing closer and closer. Then there was a low voice that could be heard from right outside the front door.

"What do we do?" A man asked, clearly unaware we were all hiding only a few feet away.

"Take down the door." A familiar voice answered. I recognized it enough to know I've heard it before but not enough to attach a name to it. I racked my memory trying to remember who it was and I looked to Lexa who appeared to be doing the same, her hand on her forehead and her eyes tightly closed.

"What if we scare them?" The man asked, clearly not wanting to fulfill his boss's orders.

"Just do what I say Gabriel. We need to make sure we have those kids. Take the door down now."

There was a loud slam and the front door of the lake house came flying open. We all stood up from our crouched positions, fists and bats up, ready to fight. We didn't have to though.

"Agent Diyoza?" I asked, unable to believe she was really there. Standing in front of me was the agent who found Madi and Aden when they were kidnapped.

"Clarke? Lexa? Where are the kids?" Agent Diyoza asked, her tone filled with a genuine concern that put my mind at ease.

"They are safe. We have them upstairs watching tv." I answered.

"So Nia and her partner aren't here?"

"No. And his name is Finn. Nia's partner."

"Finn Collins?!"

"Yeah do you know of him?"

"Know of him? Clarke we've been tracking Finn for  years. Are you trying to tell me he is somehow involved in this case?"

"Involved would be an understatement. We have a lot of talking to do Agent Diyoza."

"Don't worry. Abby and Marcus already filled me in on a lot of what happened...clearly not everything though."

"What do you mean?"

"They contacted me and my team. That's how we got the heads up to come looking for you all. We heard the kids were in danger. I guess Nia and Finn must have fled when they saw us coming. I was told you have a bullet wound Clarke. Someone will need to take you in to go get that treated properly."

"No it's fine." I refused. "It's nothing really."

"Clarke." Lexa spoke it a stern voice. "You are getting medical attention. It's not up for discussion. I'll watch Madi."

"No. I'm not leaving Madi again." I argued back, refusing her offer.

"Clarke. You were shot. My top priority is making sure you are ok. We can bring the kids with us."

"Just do it clarke." Ontari mumbled, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Oh wow the shooter is telling me to my bullet wound looked at. Isn't that ironic?" I sighed, rolling my eyes.

"Wait she shot you?" Diyoza asked, looking at Ontari, clearly confused.

"It's a long story." I mumbled.

"Well that story will have to wait. You are all safe now but my team and I have to go looking for Nia and Finn. They are still out there somewhere. Come on Gabriel let's go."

And with that Diyoza and Gabriel turned and moved out of the house quickly leaving us all stunned. I never expected Diyoza to show up and I certainly have to thank Marcus and Abby for saving everyone's lives.

"Well that could have gone a lot worse." Murphy shrugged, setting down his baseball bat.

"The threat isn't over but I guess we are safe right now. Thank you all so much for helping us." I said, looking at everyone in the room except Ontari who I was still a little bit annoyed with for almost killing me.

"Come on Clarke. Time to go to the hospital." Lexa voiced, giving me this look I couldn't quite read.

"I'll go get the kids." I agreed, turning to head back  upstairs.

"Wait." Lexa stopped me, grabbing my arm and turning me around to face her again. "I Uh- I'm just really glad the kids are safe. Also you. I mean...I-"

"Lexa. It's ok." I whispered, quickly moving to pull her onto a hug. "They are gone. We are safe now."

I felt Lexa relax in my arms for a few seconds but suddenly she tensed up super quickly and I pulled away from her slowly. "Lex. What's wrong?"

"It's nothing." Lexa answered, and I could immediately tell she was lying. I gave her a skeptical look and then nodded unconvinced and went to go get the kids. I thought Lexa would be happier right now but something is definitely bothering her. The only question is 'what?'

An: sorry this took so long, I caught myself a case. (Not jail time, Corona) so I've been kinda sleepy and sick and stuff so updates may be a bit slower but now it's time for the fluffy stuff so much to look forward to.
