After a while, Lexa had calmed down and she seemed to be ok.
"Listen Lexa we don't have to go in if you don't want to."
"No...we have to Clarke. For our kids." Lexa sighed, closing her eyes briefly. When she opened them again something was different. She had this look of determination that I knew wouldn't falter.
"Ok. Let's go."
We both exited the truck and walked up to the door. We took a brief moment to take a deep breath before Lexa moved her hand to knock on the door slowly.
After a few seconds Ontari opened the door and her eyes fell upon Lexa before shifting to me and widening.
"Holy shit Clarke!" Ontari yelled, grabbing Lexa and I by the wrists and pulling us Inside, shutting the door quickly behind us. "What is wrong with you two?! What part of you are dead don't you understand Clarke?!"
"We had to come see you Ontari." I explained, trying to calm the brunette down a little.
"I don't think you understand Clarke! If my mom, her partner or my brother spot you alive and ok we are both dead."
"I mean I wouldn't exactly call myself ok right now. I have a gunshot wound so-"
"Stop Clarke." Ontari interrupted me. "Both of you follow me right now." Ontari instructed us, turning on her heel and walking forwards.
I looked to Lexa and saw how uncomfortable she already was. We made eye contact briefly and I reached out my hand to her. She quickly grabbed on and I gave her a small nod before leading us forwards to go catch up with Ontari.
She lead us to an office and walked in and took a seat behind this fancy desk. There were two chairs in front which Ontari motioned to with her hands so Lexa and I both took a seat, still making sure to hold hands.
"So." Ontari started. "What are you two doing here?"
"Ontari you never actually told us why your mother is doing this." Lexa said.
Ontari seemed frustrated and rolled her eyes. "For the millionth time Lexa, it's not just my mother. It's her partner too."
"Well who is her partner?"
"I told you I don't know." Ontari snapped.
"Is this because I own Firestorm?" Lexa asked, desperately trying to find some reason for all that has happened.
Ontari's mouth dropped and her eyes widened. "You think this is about a tech company?"
"What else would it be about?!"
"I don't know Lexa, maybe it has something to do with your son!"
"Ontari do not speak of my son! He's never done anything wrong he's a child!"
"Oh my god." Ontari gasped. "You really don't know do you Lexa?"
Lexa turned to me briefly to see if I had any idea what was happening but I just shrugged my shoulders and gave her hand a comforting squeeze. I watched as she turned back to Ontari who actually looked a little bit shocked.
Lexa took a deep breath to calm herself down and then asked the question I knew was already eating away at her.
"What don't I know Ontari?"
In that short moment after Lexa asked the question, I could see a look of hurt flash through Ontari's eyes. Whatever vulnerability Ontari was about to show was quickly hidden as the girl tried to put her walls back up.
"Ontari please." Lexa begged. "What don't I know?"
I watched as a tear slid down Ontari's cheek and her defensives fell again. She quickly wiped it away and I knew something big was about to happen.
"Please." Lexa tried one last time.
Ontari looked up at me and then shifted her focus to Lexa. This is the first time I've ever seen her in this state. She knows something. I just hope that whatever it is won't hurt Lexa.
"I'm so sorry Lexa." Ontari apologized. "It was Roan."
"What was Roan?" Lexa asked, still not able to put the pieces together. I myself was trying to understand what Ontari was talking about, then suddenly it all clicked.
"Roan is Aden's father." Ontari whispered.
I turned to Lexa and watched as her face fell. She stared off into space and her body froze. Finally after several minutes she spoke.
"Your brother...it was him."
"I'm sorry Lexa. I thought you already knew." Ontari frowned. "He doesn't even know."
"What do you mean he doesn't know?" I asked, suddenly confused once again.
"This is all my mother and that guy. Roan doesn't know anything. He just follows their orders. The only reason I knew was because I overheard a conversation between my mother and the guy." Ontari's explained.
"So Nia wants to kill me. Why?"
"She knows she's Aden's grandmother. She wants custody of your kid. That whole kidnapping thing wasn't a power move like I originally suspected. It was a way to get Aden and Madi to trust her."
"Why not tell Roan he's Aden's father?"
"She knew he wouldn't want anything to do with this if he found out. I understand if you want to kill him. If something like that happened to me...I...I'm so sorry Lexa."
I looked at Lexa and I could tell she was wondering if Ontari should know. I gave her a little nod and we both turned to face Ontari again.
"Roan is dead." Lexa stated pretty quickly, just wanting to get right to the chase.
"What?" Ontari asked, not able to comprehend her words.
I tried to explain quickly so Ontari could understand. "After you shot me he broke into Firestorm, killed a bunch of security guards, and then tried to kill us, I'm guessing at your mothers orders. We had to fight back. He's gone, I'm sorry."
I expected Ontari to be furious. I expected there to be yelling and maybe crying but there was nothing. Instead she just merely nodded her head.
"What about Clarke?" Lexa asked suddenly. "I still don't get what she has to do with any of this."
"My mother only works with people when they have the same goal. I hate to break it to you blondie but I assume it's got something to do with your kid."
"But-" before I could finish my sentence I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out to see I was getting a call from Raven. My eyes widened immediately and I showed the screen to Lexa who became instantly as nervous. We told Raven not to call us unless it was an emergency since she's supposed to be hiding out with our kids.
"Ontari I have to answer this. It's probably related to our kids."
"I understand."
I gave Ontari a thankful nod and then answered the call, moving the phone to my ear.
"Hello? Raven? Is everything ok?" I asked quickly.
"Well that depends on what you consider to be ok." A voice that I knew wasn't ravens answered menacingly.
"Who is this?!" I yelled into the phone. "Where is Raven?!"
"Wow Clarke. I'm actually incredibly offended. You can't recognize the voice of your child's father?"
My heart stopped beating in my chest and I almost dropped the phone. It was him. It was Finn.
