It's been 2 days since Lexa and I found our children again and today we are finally letting Aden and Madi go back to preschool. Madi and I have been staying at Lexa and Aden's place since we wanted to keep the kids safe and we realized it would be safer if we were all together. Madi sleeps in a bunk bed in Aden's room and I sleep in one of the guest rooms. Living with Lexa makes me feel incredibly safe and I don't really know why but it's nice having her close. I assumed Lexa would have to return to work sometime soon but she's actually been completely focused and present these past few days. I think Aden is starting to like having her around more which honestly worries me a little because I know he will be disappointed when she inevitably returns to Firestorm.

This morning Lexa made everyone waffles, and then we all got in a car to head to the preschool. Madi was extremely excited to go back but Aden seemed more reserved. The only thing that made him excited to return was Madi telling him about all of the fun things they could do together. I would have to admit that my daughter's excitement is actually quite contagious, because I can't stop smiling, thinking about how happy Aden and Madi will be back at school.

I on the other hand might have quite the challenging day ahead of me. Right after we drop the kids off, Lexa and I are going back to her place to finally talk about the kidnapping. We would have done this sooner however we didn't want either of the kids to hear anything that might scare them, so we agreed to wait until we had some time alone together. That was a problem for later though, so I tried my best not to worry about that until after Madi and Aden were safe at school.

"Yay! We're here!" Madi cheered, squirming around in her car seat.

Aden seemed happy too and Lexa and I were quick to help the two out of the car so we could head inside. Madi reached up to grab my hand and Aden grabbed lexa's. Then Madi and Aden held hands so the 4 of us were all walking in a line together.

I chanced a glance at Lexa and I was relieved to see she looked happy. We made eye contact for a brief moment and I could tell she thought this formation we were walking in was just as cute as I did. When we walked into the building, a tall blonde woman greeted us at the counter. She's actually a teacher here and Aden and Madi let go of our hands and ran over to greet her.

"Ms. Snow!" They smiled, running and hugging the woman who bent down so they could reach her.

"Hi Aden. Hi Madi." The woman smiled. "I missed you two."

"We missed you too." Madi smiled, as she and Aden pulled away from the hug.

Lexa and I decided to walk over to the kids and hug them goodbye one last time, us both still feeling a little extra cautious about leaving them.

When I gave Madi a hug, she whispered "I love you forever." Into my ear and I chuckled a little and repeated our little phrase back to her. Madi then let go of me and ran back to her teacher and Aden followed behind.

I turned to look at Lexa who I was surprised to see had a few tears in her eyes. I walked towards her and grabbed a hold of one of her hands, looking into her piercing green eyes. "It will be ok."

"I know." Lexa nodded, giving my hand a little squeeze, still staring right back into my eyes. "I have you."

"You have the most adorable little family." A woman called from behind us. Lexa and I both turned around to see an old woman smiling at us.

I was about to clarify that Lexa and I weren't actually married or anything and that we were two separate families but before I could even open my mouth, Lexa smiled kindly sat the woman saying "thank you."

I looked at her confused but she just pulled my hand gently, dragging me out of the school. When we returned to Lexa's car, Lexa moved her hand to turn the keys and start the ignition but I placed my hand over hers to stop her.
