Going back to school after the defeat was painful for everyone. The weight of failure was crushing and it suffocated the boys. When I saw them in the halls, I made sure to greet them warmly and give them big hugs but there was only so much I could do. Since I sat beside Asahi, it was easy to watch over him. I wrote him little notes every now and then just to see him smile. I even brought extra meat buns so I could share them with him. I'd see small smiles here and there but I knew how upset he was. Once we were on break, Asahi left with Daichi and Suga. I sighed as I watched them leave and felt my heart slowly sink. I had been feeling a ton of emotions around him lately and I don't think I like it. And now that he is upset and is barely speaking to me, I feel almost as sad as he does. I got up from my seat to go and find Kiyoko and we walked around the school together until we came to the staircase where we heard voices.

"Is that Asahi, Daichi, and Suga?" I whispered to her. She nodded at me and we hid around the corner listening to them. When I heard Daichi say he thought they should leave the team, I almost jumped from our hiding spot to clobber him, but hearing Asahi's and Suga's words calmed me down. Of course, Daichi would think he was doing what was best for the team but in reality, the team needed those three. The support they give the boys is what really keeps them going whether it's emotional or physical support. Kiyoko and I smiled at each other before sneaking away.

"Are you going to stay, y/n?" She asked quietly.

"I want to. I love volleyball and I love watching the guys play. I want to play with them sometime soon. They embody everything I was taught growing up. 'where there is love, there is growth' and even watching them do what they love inspires growth within me. I want to keep watching." I said to her.

"Me too. I started off as manager because I wasn't doing track anymore, but I have grown to love it here. Let's stay as managers together." She said to me. I pulled her into a hug then we made our way back to our classes. The day continued and Takada-Sensei called the third-years down to have a discussion with us. He spoke about the regret we might face dedicating ourselves to the volleyball club but looking around, I knew none of us would feel this way. These moments we spend together as a team doing what we love will never be something we look back on with regret. After the meeting, Kiyoko and I headed up to the clubroom. Since Coach Ukai cancelled today's practice, I was going to start practicing again. My physio sessions were wrapping up and I was feeling stronger every day. She agreed to help me with some light practice. I didn't ask the guys because, at the moment, I wasn't sure how to approach them, especially Asahi. They seemed so far away from me now. As I was changing, I heard screaming from the gym.

"It's Kageyama and Hinata, isn't it? I recognize those shouts anywhere." I rolled my eyes and finished by tying up my hair and grabbing my shoes. "Let's go. I need to find a space to practice before the rest of the team comes too." We went down and saw the gym in complete disarray. The boys were on the floor and sweaty and there were volleyballs everywhere. "I am not even going to ask. Just clean up a little bit, I am sure everyone else is close by and ready for some practice." Just as I said that Tanaka and Noya appeared out of nowhere ready to tackle Kiyoko and now, me too. One day if we weren't careful they would kill us. We ducked quickly and they flew out the door behind us.

"Now we are just waiting for the third years, there is no way that they are quitting," Tanaka said, coming back inside while covered in dirt.

"What do you mean 'quit'? They're still going to the spring tournament right?" Just as Hinata asked, the last three boys came running in.

"Yes, we are." Kiyoko smiled and the boys came up behind us. I turned to smile at them and I saw Asahi already looking at me.

"Why are you wearing volleyball gear?" He asked. That question made everyone turn to look at me.
