They waited outside for a while, even after Y/n had rung the doorbell and knocked on the door. Any nervousness Asahi felt had shifted into annoyance and his feet tapped impatiently at the ground.

"Where is he? I had texted him that I was coming and he responded." Just as Y/n was about to respond, the door swung open. A woman stood there with a toddler on her hip.

"Hi! I'm so sorry, I couldn't get this one off of me. Please come in!" She smiled at them brightly before moving to the side, holding the door open for them. Y/n  lead him inside while she smiled sweetly at her boyfriend's stepmother and half brother. They took off their shoes and walked further inside. The house was decorated nicely, aside from all the toys of the little ones. They took a seat on the couch. They watched as Hanako placed the child on the ground and quickly handed him a toy to keep him entertained.

"I'll bring out some tea. I hadn't really started cooking. Kids, you know?" They didn't really know but Y/n laughed slightly and nodded anyway. Asahi was staring at his younger brother. "Ok, that toy should keep Hansuke entertained for a while. I'll call your dad, Asahi." He started when he heard his name come from her. The two of them hardly interacted, especially since she wasn't that much older than him at her age of 32. The age gap between them was smaller than the gap between her and his father.

The child stared at the two of them with his toy in his mouth. Y/n was the first to interact with him.

"Hi Hansuke, how are you, baby?" She bent over slightly and gave silly faces to the boy who laughed in return. She was quite experienced in handling baby boys, after her all, her brother still was one. He stood and walked over to the two of them. His hand rested on Asahi's knee while he handed Y/n his toy.

"Thank you so much! You are so polite!" He responded with a garbled 'you're welcome' before turning to his older brother. They stared at each other curiously before Y/n picked the boy up and placed him on her boyfriend's lap. "Interact with your brother, love. He is so adorable!" She poked his chubby cheeks while he continued laughing. He is such a happy child. Asahi held the small boy closer to him and tickled his sides lightly. It was amazing to think that his father had children so adorable and loving. This must come from Hanako.

She brought out the tea and watched as her stepson and his girlfriend play with her child. It brought a smile to her face.

"Here you go! I hope green tea is ok. Let me allow me to properly introduce myself. I'm Omori Hanako and it is so nice to meet you! I'm sorry I'm not so prepared for your arrival." She bowed slightly to Y/n who stood and bowed to her as well.

"Thank you for inviting me! I'm (L/n) (F/n). It's nice to meet you and Hansuke-Kun as well. He is friendly!" She said as she smiled back at the little boy who had just figured out how grabbable Asahi's beard was.

"He is! It's definitely fun to take him out. He's always smiling and saying hi to strangers, it's adorable. I should start cooking, please make yourselves at home. Your father will be down soon, Asahi. He is just helping Ichika after her bath." Asahi perked up at that. He could never imagine his father to be so domestic. He didn't want to deal with him alone either.

"We can help you cook, Hanako." He stood with his brother in his arms who seemed rather excited to be so high up all of a sudden.

"If your sure, I don't mind the help at all." She led them to the kitchen where Asahi sat down with Hansuke and Y/n was washing her hands to help Hanako. He watched the two women as they conversed with each other, he spoke occasionally as well. He could have liked her. She was kind and rather bubbly. It was a shame she married who she married.

While the three conversed (technically four, Hansuke was rather vocal), the man himself came down with his daughter hoisted on his shoulders. His presence was rather large, much like his frame. His voice carried throughout the hallway of the house and steps thundered across the hardwood floors. That was another thing that distinguished them. Asahi was quiet. He kept to himself and didn't attract unnecessary attention. His father was his exact opposite, he never knew when to shut his mouth.
