The next Saturday came rather quickly. Our days were filled with practicing volleyball and studying and our nights were filled with hangouts with our families. They had finally met each other during the week. Our parents got on very well and found a common ground in their love to expose their children's embarrassing stories. Ryu spent the entire night laughing at both Asahi and me while the two of us continuously flushed and tried to shut our parents up. If Asahi thought I was a bad mix with his mother, my father was ten times worse. We collectively agreed that they should avoid each other for as long as possible. This was a difficult promise to keep when Ryu was constantly asking Asahi if he can hear more stories from his mother whenever he walked me home from practice. And Asahi, being the sucker he is, could never say no to my brothers' requests. Another dinner was scheduled for next Saturday.
"Asahi, babe, you are great and all, but why would you subject us to this torture? Again?"
"I can't say no to that face, Y/n. He has that 'puppy dog eyes' thing mastered." Asahi was weak.
Thankfully, we had a week before the dinner happened, to which Asahi and I would both claim we were both sick. Today, however, was the day of our first official first date at our local art gallery. I face-timed Kiyoko after my shower, at her request so we could speak as I got ready.
"Are you excited?" She asked curiously. Her hair was held up in a bun and her glasses were low on her nose as she read a book and watched me apply my makeup.
"Definitely. I was surprised he even asked me. I thought I would have to ask first. So far, the major steps in the relationship were instigated by me. I was shocked when he did this first." I said as I blended out my concealer. Today called for more than the usual lip gloss and mascara.
"I think it's a good thing. He likes you so much that he is growing out of his shell. It's cute. I can't believe I am the reason for this relationship. If I am not the maid of honour at your wedding as well as godmother to all your children, I'll kill you." She teased but I could hear the underlying seriousness of her words.
"Not unless I marry you, Kiki-chan." I jokingly flirted with an exaggerated wink as she laughed. "Besides, I expect the same treatment when you finally end up with a certain underclassman." Her laughter died immediately as I gave her a pointed look, my brush stopped moving on my face. Her face blushed furiously as she brought her book up to cover herself. "Mhmm~" I smirked as I continued my makeup.
"I don't like you." She finally mumbled, a large sigh escaped her mouth.
"But you like Tanaka though," I said in a teasing song.
"I do not, he tries to kill me along with Noya on a daily basis." She said, pretending to focus on her book again.
"And you like that." I saw her blush once again.
"Can we drop it? How about we find an outfit for your date? You can't wear one of your robes to the art gallery." She tried to distract me and I would let it work for now. I can tease her about it later.
"Yeah, let me just finish my makeup, I'll be done soon." I kept my makeup neutral and simple with a simple winged liner and some tinted lip gloss as well as the other basic face stuff. "Okay! These are our options." I held my two outfit choices to her.
"I like the one in your right hand. It's simple yet cute. Besides, it is supposed to be cold today. You'd start complaining in the other one."
"You know me so well, Kiki-chan." I moved out the camera into the corner of my room and quickly stripped myself of my robe and pulled on my underwear quickly. I moved back into the frame. "What do you think? This is new." Kiyoko and I had changed in front of each other enough to make comments on the lingerie we each bought.
