Truth

"Vini, may papakilala ako sayo." Sabi ni Asher sa akin noong nagkita kami sa District 9 para i-celebrate ang pagkapanalo ng team.

Sanay na ako sa ganyang linya niya. Mostly, they were fangirls of Verdant Phoenix na gustong makipag-picture kaya tumango ako at sumunod sa kanya.

He stopped on their sofa at hinanap ang kaibigan.

That's when I started to get curious about her. Kaya nung sinabi sakin ni Asher na ni-praprank niya ang kaibigan niya, hinayaan ko lang at sumali pa ako.

"Hindi nga, bro. She's like my twin, my girl version." Sabi ni Asher nung tinanong ko siya kung hindi ba talaga siya gusto ni Yani or vice versa. "Simula nung nagkakilala kami ni Yani, parehas kaming hindi pa nawawalan ng jowa. She's always unavailable so I never thought of her that way."

"Isa pa, it's unlike Yani to not voice out her crush. I know her, she shows her emotions transparently. So if she likes me, she would have said it long ago." Dagdag pa niya.

I find her interesting, and Asher was right, I can read her emotions well because she shows it. Inis, galit, selos or happiness, you can easily see it through her facial expressions.

She's not afraid to say no kapag ayaw niya ang isang bagay. She's direct to the point kapag may gusto siyang iparating sayo. She is also good at arguments na minsan you'll just give up para matapos na ang pinag-aawayan niyo.

What truly caught my heart was how she appreciates things, how she tries to lift you up when you're down.

Things were going smoothly between the two of us. She's comfortable to be with and we get along. I suddenly felt like I'm starting to... fall for her.

"Bro, bakit siya?" Tanong ni Caden noong napapansin ng tropa ang madalas naming pagkikita ni Yani. "I mean, I'm all support for you pero she dated Trev. I'm just concern, baka pag-initan ka niya."

We all avoid getting into Trevor's bad side because he has the power to remove anyone from the team kapag hindi niya nagustuhan. He has always been bossy around everyone too because his dad is a big sponsor of our team and his family is influential. He can basically do anything.

Noon pa man, hindi na ako gusto ni Trevor. He sees me as a threat to his position at mas lumala lang iyon when Yani came in between us.

Hindi niya gusto si Yani, I'm sure of that. He just wants to start a competition because he thinks that I'm taking away his 'things' from him.

The day after the two of us had a mini commotion in front of District 9, he confronted me.

"Leave Yani alone, Monteverde. Ako ang nauna sa kanya." He said in a clenched jaw.

"Yani gets to decide who she wants to be with, Trevor. Stop being manipulative." Hindi ko na napigilang sagutin siya.

"If you don't, I will destroy the both of you." He warned. "Do you believe that I can hurt her?"

Yes. I know he's capable of doing that. Alam kong hindi siya nagbibiro sa huling sinabi niya. I won't risk it, I will come up with a plan.

"Attention please, Vince Monteverde please look at your left side." Rinig kong may nagsabi sa microphone.
