Appointment

"Did you drink? Bakit ang pula ng mukha mo?" Tanong ni Ate Mish.

Naabutan ko silang nanonood ng movie sa living area.

"U-Uh, wine lang. I'll go up na, medyo tipsy na ako. I guess my alcohol tolerance is not high anymore." Paalam ko bago diretsong pumunta na sa kwarto.

My face is heating up and my heart is pounding loud and fast.

Sinubsob ko ang mukha ko sa unan at sumigaw. Come on, Yani you've experienced more than a kiss on the cheek before pero bakit itong kay Vini halos hindi ka na makahinga.

I should have slap him! How could he suddenly do that? But then I also told Ash that it's common to do that in other countries. Which he probably heard.

I groaned in frustration at ginawa nalang ang night routine ko.

I crawled into my bed and made myself comfy. I got my phone to check it at nakitang may message ako.

From unknown number, 11:40 PM

The next day, I woke up later than I usually do. Nagtaka pa ako dahil hindi ako tinawagan ni Kuya Flint for updates? Siya yung alarm clock ko eh.

My question was answered when I went down for breakfast at nakita siyang kumakain kasama ang pamilya ko.

"Good morning." I greeted them bago umupo at kumuha ng pagkain.

"How did it go yesterday?" My dad asked.

I updated them habang kumakain. I also told them that I'll send them the designs and pricelist of the furniture para makita din nila. They just nodded while eating too.

"For today, we'll be going to Hernandez - De Vera Construction & Development. You'll meet my cousin who is an architect to discuss about the renovations of the café." Kuya Flint said. "May partner firms ang ExAd for this but I suggested na sa HDVC tayo because it's family."

Makahulugan akong ngumiti sa sinabi niyang 'family' because I remember my dad accidentally told me about Kuya Flint's plan to propose to my sister. Pinandilatan kaagad ako ni dad nang nagkatinginan kami.

"By the way, Yani. Na-practice mo na naman ang driving mo diba?" My dad said while wiping his mouth. "You'll need to start driving yourself from now on because Leon is going back to school so magiging busy na yung driver."

"Alright dad."

After our breakfast we got going. I'm driving my own car at nakasunod kay Kuya Flint papuntang HDVC.

"Yani, this is Architect Frost De Vera." Pakilala ni Kuya Flint. "Architect, this is Chef Yani Lee."

"Hi, nice meeting you." I said at kinamayan siya. The guy looked serious, much more serious than Vini, actually.

"Don't be scared of him, Yani. Ganyan talaga ang itsura niya pero mabait iyan." Natatawang sabi ni Kuya Flint. "Anyway, have you received the blueprint of the location?" He asked him.

Architect De Vera opened the blueprint on his laptop, hinarap niya iyon sa amin para makita namin. I told them my ideas kung paano ko gusto ang set up ng café at saan ko gusto ang placement ng mga equipment.

Tumango si Architect pagkatapos marinig ang plano ko. "I will send the new blueprint within this week and I'll visit the site with an engineer some time this week too, you're free to join us if you want."

Nag-usap pa sila tungkol sa iba't ibang ways na pwedeng gawin para ma-achieve ang gusto kong mangyari taking consideration of the rules given by the landlord.
