"We will not be having a class this Friday, instead, you all will be required to watch the UAAP basketball game to support our school."
Basketball game?
Naisip ko si Monteverde, I already searched him up that day pagkatapos niya akong pahiramin ng payong. I saw that he is famous not only in our school, madaming nakakakilala sa kanya na taga ibang schools din. He has a large following on his social media accounts at may interviews din siya talking about basketball. He is literally a celebrity, lalo lang akong kinilig nang marealize na a famous person lend me an umbrella.
"Don't worry about the transportation, we will go there as a class. Remember to wear a green shirt." Our prof. continued.
Pinaalalahanan din niya kami na magbehave at sumunod sa arena rules lalo na't we will be representing our school.
"First time?"
I'm wearing a green shirt and maong pants, my hair is in a ponytail with a green scrunchy.
"Yep. I mean, I've watched sports fest noong highschool ako pero here sa UAAP, it's my first time watching."
"Why?"
"No reason, hindi lang ako mahilig sa sports."
The arena is filled with mumbling sounds of the crowd when we came in.
Puno ng nakagreen ang side namin from Le Grand at sa tapat naman ay puno ng nakapurple from UNA. Nakikisunod lang ako kapag nag-checheer ang mga tao sa side namin, still unfamiliar with it.
When the players came out, nagsigawan ulit ang mga tao. Our players are wearing a green jersey with 'Le Grand' printed in front of the jersey. Sa likod naman ay surname on top and then their number below it.
I checked the players' numbers instead.
0 – Villanueva
6 – Cereno
15 – Vasquez
28 – Ty
10 – Monteverde
There he is!
The game started intensely. Pabalik balik ang mata ko sa dalawang side ng court, the players were good, though hindi ko kayang i-explain ang nangyari dahil hindi ako familiar sa basketball terms.
"Shet, Sayang!"
That was the end of the 1st quarter, lamang ang UNA.
