Waves
"Vini, let's talk." She told me with a serious look.
After the dinner, nag-aya siyang maglakad sa beach side. She even avoided answering the question that I prepared for her kaya ginapangan ako ng kaba.
Tinalikuran ko siya kaagad. It felt nostalgic. Sa tabing dagat, kaming dalawa lang. Familiar words.
Is she going to push me away again? What is she thinking about? Kung ano man yun, ipagpapaliban ko nalang muna. I don't want to hear it.
"It's a prank, stupid! I love you!" She yelled again.
Napatigil agad ako sa paglalakad. Did I hear it right?
I've dreamed of hearing those three words from her and did she finally say it?
Humarap ako sa kanya at nakita siyang tumatawa. Mabilis akong bumalik sa kinatatayuan niya. I leaned in and gave her a soft kiss.
She didn't kiss me back and remained smiling. She's enjoying my reaction.
"This is the only time I felt glad being called stupid." I whispered.
"Alis ka pa ha?" She teased, still having a big smile.
"You shouldn't have used the 'let's talk' words to begin with. May trauma na ata ako roon eh!" Reklamo ko.
Lalo siyang natawa. She pulled me to sit down on the sand, I put an arm over her shoulder and pulled her closer to me.
Hindi ko na matago ang ngiti ko. She said it!
"When did you plan that? Nakigamit ka pa ng venue ni Kuya Flint ha." She playfully accused.
"I just asked for a small favor from the general manager." I answered. "At ikaw, prank? Kakapanood mo yan sa videos ni Trail noh?"
"Di ah! Ang funny ng reaction mo eh." She chuckled so I pinched her cheeks, ang cute.
She hit my arm para matangal sa mukha niya and glared at me.
"So, love." Tawag ko sa kanya. Di ko mapigilan ulit ang ngiti.
"Oh?" She answered without looking at me, getting shy.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Hindi ko pa ba nasagot kanina?" She rolled her eyes.
"Eh yung blueberry yung kinain mo eh, 'no' kaya yun."
"Fine, yes."
"Napilitan?" I laughed at her.
"Ang kulit." She commented at binaon ang mga paa sa buhangin.
Ang kulit. Inisip ko kung kalian pa ako nanging makulit? I've always been a quiet and serious type of person. Sa kanya lang ako makulit, gusto ko siyang makausap, I want her attention, I want to know everything about her.
Looking at the calm water in front of us, I couldn't help but to reminisce.
The first time I heard her name again, my heart jumped in excitement. Finally, the day that I was dreaming about came.
"Sir. May nag-papaschedule po ng consultation with you. Kaso lang fully book na po kayo for this month." Sabi ng secretary ko.
Nagtataka ko siyang tiningnan. Normally, she would organize my schedule lalo na kung client consultation.
