Chapter 16

"Andy."

I heave a deep sighed and looked at nowhere. The wind is blowing the strands of my hair as I stare blankly at a hollow space, completely pre occupied.

"Andy!"

Napakurap ako ng bigla akong hampasin ni Amara sa braso ko. I pursed my lips into thin line then smiled at them weakly.

"Bakit?" I said gathering all my sanity.

"Ang deep naman kasi ng iniisip mo. We've been calling you since 3 minutes ago." she said. I just shrugged my head. Lumingon ako kay Arielle at naabutan ko syang nakataas ang kilay sa akin.

"What?" I asked and swallowed hard. She eyed me suspiciously.

"Wanna share us something?" she asked. Kumabog ang puso ko sa kaba. Arielle doesn't know anything. But I'm being paranoid since last week.

After that confrontation. It feels like that moment took away my soul and I'm being lost while still searching for it. After Van confessed, everything seems so clear.

All the things I've been running to chased me down. All the things I'm shrugging off put into clear emphasis.

He's inlove with me.

And that's what's keeping us apart.

Because he's right. He doesn't talk to me after that. He's afraid I might reject him. He's afraid I might hurt him. And I'm thankful that he did. Because I'm too scared to even look at him too or hurt him again.

I sighed deeply.

"Don't forget my birthday at the end of the month." I just said changing the topic. Arielle groaned and roll her eyes at me like that's the lamest thing I've said. Amara arched her brow.

"Speaking of that. What gift do you want to receive?" Amara asked getting my attention. I rolled my eyes at her.

"You really sucks on giving gifts."

SHe shrugged her shoulders.

"I know that. That's why I'm asking you."

I scoffed at her.

"Same here. Ano bang gusto mo?" singit ni Arielle.

I groaned at them.

"Seriously girls? it's my debut! You shouldn't be asking me. You should find it out by yourself what a grown up lady wants when she turns into her legal age." I said.

Ngumiwi si Amara sa sinabi ko. Umirap naman si Arielle. I sighed.

"Okay fine. I'll give you a box of condom." Arielle said and my eyes widened.

"What?"

"Condom." she said casually. I blinked at her boldness. She arched her brows.

"You said you'll be a grown up lady. You need that. You know, for protection." she winked at me.

Ngumiwi ako sa sinabi nya. Arielle is the first one to turn eighteen among the three of us. I am the last. I wonder if she's been using that for her to say that.

"I'll buy you a book entitled fifty shades of gray. You need practice." Amara added then winked at me too. Napapalo ako sa noo ko.

God. Ganitong utak na ba talaga kapag nag lelegal age? Sa kanila lang ata.
