Chapter 7

"Tomorrow is a date!" Van shouted when he went out of our house. I rolled my eyes at him and waved my hand before he enter his car.

"Take care!" I shouted back with sarcasm. Syempre, wala pa namang 3 minutes drive yung layo ng bahay nila sa amin. Pero baka nga naman makabangga pa sya ng pusa so he should really take care.

I watched him until he was out of my sight. I sighed deeply as I enter the house.

Tomorrow is a date. Tomorrow is the death anniversary of his parents. And also, my mother's birthday. Nakagawian na namin na dumalaw sa kanila ng sabay kahit magkaiba kami ng cemetery.

Well, it's been a week since we last talked about my mysterious crush. And he's really keeping an eye to me, trying to catch me talking to Gab. But he failed. We only interact inside the classroom and I am glad that Van isn't my classmate.

Tumigil na din sya sa pakikipagdate sa mga schoolmates namin. Hindi ko alam kung sawa lang ba sya or nagtitino na talaga sya. But, other than that, atlast, I am at peace.

But there are still rumors about his mysterious girl, Mafie. And up until now, he haven't opened up anything about that girl. And I am getting really curious.

Pumasok ako ng bahay at naabutan ko si Papa na papalabas lang din. He's talking someone on the phone so I waited until he's done with the call. When he put it down he went near me and pulled me for a hug.

"I'll be gone for three days. Take care okay. I already asked Van to look after you." he said then kissed my forehead.

"But, it Mama's birthday tomorrow. You forgot?" I asked carefully.

Halata sa itsura ni Papa na nagulat sya sa sinabi ko. Obviously, he forgot... again. I sighed deeply when I saw him struggling to hide the shock on his face.

"Oh." that's the only thing that he said.

I smiled bitterly at him. This is not new. I should be used to this.

"It's fine. I'll visit her. I will only send your regards to her." I said and hug him again.

He hugged me back, tighter.

"Thank you Andy. I love you."

"I love you Pa." I said. Trying to hide the bitterness of my voice.

I made myself busy that day. I made snacks for Van and I tomorrow. Then I spent the rest of the day watching series and reading some books. It was an idle day for me. But it still excites me to know what will happen tomorrow.

Isang malakas na busina at nagpabangon sa akin. I curse inside my head when I heard that. I immediately took a glance at my clock and curse again when I saw what time is it. Sumilip ako sa bintana at naabutan ko si Van na nakahilig sa kotse nya. I sighed deeply before shouting at him.

"Get in! I will prepare first!" I shouted. He looked up to me then shrugged his head.

Umirap ako bago dali daling pumasok sa banyo. Dahil ata sa excitement ko na makadalaw kay mama hindi ko na namalayan kung anong oras ako nakatulog kagabi. I took a bath quickly before going out of the bathroom.

"Shit!" halos maihulog ko ang towel ko ng nakita ko si Van na nakahiga sa kama ko at deretso ang tingin sa akin.

"Damn, ginulat mo ako." sabi ko at pilit na tinatago ang kaba. Mabilis akong kumuha ng damit na isusuot ko.

"You told me to get in." he reasoned out. Sumulyap ako sa kanya.

He's now hugging my pillow while looking at me with those sleepy eyes. I need to remind myself to be quick because I am only wearing a towel and my hair is still wet and I don't know how I freaking looks like.
