I swallowed a sip of coffee before I said anything and then waited a bit, trying to find my mental gripping.

"Well..."

I was in my room writing to F/N about things. Mainly about my parent's and their recent shouting at each other. It had happened before with them, but rarely. Usually just about trivial things and they always made up by the end of the night.

This time, however, was different. They were fighting almost every day after my father would get back from the ministry. About what, I have no clue. But it was always after I went to my room, and they'd fight for hours, going into the early morning sometimes.

Sometimes my mom would cry and other days all she would do was complain to no one in particular.

But this one night that I was writing to F/N was different. My father was home late, and I don't know what to think of it. But the minute he came home he started yelling at my mom.

I snuck downstairs and watched between the railing bars while I sat on the middle landing.

"It's time, Helena! We need to go!"

"We have a child! We cant do that to her and we never will! Do you understand me!"

"Gods.. you're so stupid! The both of you! You always have been! " My father was shouting at my mom, she looked like she was on the verge of tears.

"There's got to be another way, Henry." She pleaded with him, trying to calm the both of them. He just chuckled in her face though, which caused my jaw to drop.

"I'm leaving."

"How could you do this to us? To her?! She loves you, Henry! And I do too!"

"I don't know why I ever married a fucking Mudblood."

"You're wrong! About everything! This is wrong and you know it!" My mother was full-on crying now, and frankly so was I. I didn't know what was happening, or why, or what was going to happen.

"Even if I'm wrong, I'd be better off anywhere else in the world than with the both of you! Even if it's in Azkaban!"

"Nothing is waiting for you if you do this! Your precious sister-in-law is locked up! So are the rest of them!"

"You daft bitch!"

A slap rang out in my ears like a firecracker. When I opened my eyes my mom had her hand to her cheek

"Fine then go! But at least say goodbye to your daughter!"

"I don't want to associate with you or your spawn!"

"And like that... he just left. And we haven't seen him since." I finished explaining to Snape. I was surprised I held it together as long as I did.

"That's... terrible. My apologies to you Ms. L/N." Snape gave me a solemn look.

"Usually I'd say I'm fine, but, that would be a very apparent lie." I played with my fingers again.

"Do you think you could make me a promise?" Snape asked, very suddenly and unexpectedly.

"Depends what it is."

"Do you think you can promise me you'll hold on?"

"I'd make an unbreakable vow, but I don't want to take any chances." I smiled at him and for a minuscule moment, I could see the corners of his mouth go up.

"I'll hold you to your word."

"Mom? I'm home!" I said as I walked through the doors of our large but quaint house.

I walked into the living room to find my mother sound asleep on the couch, at first it looked normal but then I noticed something way off. She had a rounded belly.

"Mom?" I asked, which caused her to wake up.

"Hey, sweetie." She gave me a tired smile, but it quickly fell when she saw my expression of confusion and concern.

"How are you...?"

"I found out once I started getting morning sickness. Its been a few months now... it's your fa... its Henry's." She explained to me. She waved her hand as she spoke, making her points clear.

"What are you going to do?" I said furrowing my eyebrows. In the Wizarding world, there were ways to get rid of unwanted babies.

"I don't know yet. I've been so exhausted... I haven't had time to put up the tree or anything..." I sighed.

"It's... it's fine mom." I dismissed.

I was already feeling uneasy about this. When I had left t for Hogwarts my mom was already in a bad place mentally, hence why I travelled to and from Kings Cross on my own, which I didn't mind. I had always liked my independence anyways.

"Go get some rest, I'll put some things together, alright?"

"Thank you, sweety." My mom smiled and got up from the couch. She made her way upstairs and went to her room. After I watched her go I looked to the floor and sighed.

Over the next few days I prepared for Christmas almost entirely by myself. Mom helped me get the tree but I did most of the decorating, I made some cookies and other Christmas goodies, but not nearly as much as we'd usually have. And because I wasn't old enough yet, I couldn't use magic outside of Hogwarts, meaning I had to do everything by hand.

On the bright side, my mom would make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sometimes she'd have enough to do some cleaning with me, but not much.

Freetime was usually spent on drawing, reading, or studying any missed information from the semester before. Which, wasn't much but still enough to go over.  All in all, things just kind of sucked again.

Sorry that this Chapter is A: short, and B: Had so many damn time skips.
