I watched Severus as he got ready for his day from the comfort of his, rather ur bed.

"I think I might leave the castle today," I said, looking out of the window.

"To Hogsmeade?" He inquired while pulling on his robes. I always found it interesting his dedication to his wardrobe. While it wasn't much appearance-wise, it was actually quite intricate with how many layers he wore. I always wondered how he never got hot.

"No, I mean out," I stated.

He paused and looked towards me.

"Why would you need to leave? And I don't think that it would be a wise idea anyway."

"Well, I need to find something to wear for the Yule Ball, and you said yourself that I'd be allowed to come and go from the Castle." I pushed myself to the edge of the bed and let my legs hang off from the side.

"That was before your name came out of the Cup, Y/N. And I didn't think you would have wanted to attend such an event." He finished putting on his clothes and walked towards me, then sat on the bed next to me.

"Well, it's a once-in-a-lifetime event why wouldn't I? I intended on the two f us going together, Sev." I was slightly confused.

I had already imagined Severus and I going together. Me in a beautiful gown and perhaps him wearing the robes I got for him a few years ago. I imagined the two of us away from the crowd, just us, dancing together. Earning a rare smile from him and then a kiss and embrace. Maybe even the two of us... well. I imagined a lot of things.

"Y/N... surely you understand why we can't and won't be going together."

"I thought that maybe this would be an exception to that unspoken rule. Who's going to notice, or even care?" I asked. I imagine by now he could sense my aggravation.

"We both have reputations to uphold, Y/N. And I would hate for you to receive any negativity because of me. I must go now, we can continue this conversation later." He kissed my forehead and then tucked my hair behind my ear.

I wasn't sure how to feel about that.

I sat in the Great Hall flipping through a book. I was a little down because of Severus.

No one else was around, the students were all in classes at the moment and it was becoming too cold for me to sit outside. So, I had to settle for this. I didnt mind it, it reminded me of the study halls the teachers used to do when I was a student.

I didnt know what to do for a gown for the Yule Ball. I had no parents to ask, nor friends. All I knew was that I intended on going with or without Severus.

I could always as Dumbledore. I'm sure he wouldn't mind doing the favor.

I closed my book and stood, making my way towards his office. There was no harm in asking.

I made my way up all of the numerous stairs, and entered his office. Thankfully he was just at his desk looking at papers.

He looked up and smiled at me, naturally I smiled back. Dumbledore was one of those people who could always make you feel comfortable.

"Good afternoon Y/N, what brings you to my office?" He asked.

I stepped forward, not so that I was too close, but within talking distance.

"I was wondering if I could ask of you a favor, Headmaster." I said, folding my hands in front of me.

"Of course. What do you require?"

"Well the Yule ball is coming soon and, I'd like to attend... I havent had an opportunity to find a gown or anything... I was wondering if you might be able to help me?"

"Of course. You just leave that all up to me." He gave me a smile once more.

"Thank you headmaster." I did a bit of a bow before turning to leave.

"Will you be going with Severus?" He asked. I stopped in my tracks and turned back around.

"What was that?"

"To the Yule Ball, will you be going with Severus?" He asked again.

"I- I don't-" I stammered out, unsure of what to say. I always knew he probably knew, but I never expected it to out in the open I suppose.

"Dont worry, you nor Severus are in any trouble. In fact, I'm glad to see him so happy for once." Dumbledore explained. I picked at my sleeve whilst he spoke.

"Severus thinks it's a bad idea for us to be 'going together' and I can understand why, it's just a bit disappointing is all."

"He might be right, after all I think you already have enough attention on you Ms. L/N and to have any further emphasis in a situation like that... may not be desirable."

I nodded, agreeing with him.

"Well um, I'll be seeing you, Headmaster." I gave him a small smile before dismissing myself, almost scurrying away.

It was good to know I had his help, it was also good to know there was at least one person who knew about Severus and I, it felt like it wasnt such a heavy secret.

I realized, leaving Dumbledore's office and returning to my previous thoughts, I needed friends. I was in a difficult place to as well. I couldn't really make friends with any of the students. They were all younger so there would be a disconnect, and I ran into the same problem with befriending teachers. I dont even think the teachers are even really friend with each other.

Between the two options, I'd choose the students. Perhaps a few older students... if they'd even accept me. Maybe it wouldnt be too much of a bad idea to befriend, or at least make acquaintance with Harry, maybe even Cedric.

While walking through the halls, I heard some mumbling. Loud mumbling actually, though the words were incoherent to myself, and no on else was in the hall.

As I turned the corner I saw to redheads, the same height, and with the same height. They paused their conversation when they saw me.

"What are you two boys doing?" I asked Fred and George.

"Ronald had to dance with McGonagall," said one

"And were thinking of ways to make sure he never forgets," completed the other.

"You two are trouble." I commented, they both nodded to agree.

"Wanna help us?" They both asked, at the same time.

"Only if I get to know which one of you is Fred and which is George."
