Christmas Eve:

Dear Professor Snape,

I'm sure you're questioning why I'm writing you, but it's becauseI consider you a friend in some ways. I'm sure right now you're scowling saying, "It's inappropriate for teachers and students to have personal connections to each other" but in all honesty, I have a lot of my trust in you. I guess all those detentions and special treatment made me feel comfortable. The funny thing is, we're still total strangers.

Anyways, since I have no one else to tell, things at home have gotten a lot more complicated. My mother is pregnant, she hasn't been working, and she hasn't been taking very good care of herself. I've been doing a lot of things for her, which I dont mind helping, but I don't want this to be a recurring thing when I come home for the summer.

That's all I have for you. Sorry if I'm taking awway any of your time or anything.

Merry Christmas!

From, F/N L/N.

I signed of the letter and gave it wrapped it up in an envelope, I srapped a string around it and tied a small white flower to it. I don't know what kind of flower it was, but it's one I put an anti-aging charm on so it wouldn't wilt. I couldnt help but smile as I gave the letter to my own and watched her fly off. I closed my window after and sat on the bed.

Not long after, Snow started to fall softly outside. I got in my pajamas, and went to sleep.

Christmas Day:

I woke up early next morning to see it still snowing, which brought me some joy. I always enjoyed the snow, especialy when I was little and we'd all go out as a family to play. That was something I wouldn't be able to have the priviledge to enjoy anymore.

I got up and stretched, looking at myself in the mirror. I didn't look as skinny anymore and some color was brought back into my skin. It was crazy how much even just mental health could effect your physical beeing, whether you were a muggle or wizard.

There was a tapping at my window that pulled my attention. O/N (owl name) was tapping at the window, and she was covered in snow, but now she had on a sort of cloak that allowed for her body to stay warm. I let her in my room and pulled the package she had in her talons. It was a heavy sack with a letter attached. I opened the letter and it read:

Dear Ms. L/N,

If you wish to regard me as a frined, that is your choice.

Take this as a Christmas gift, and as some help for your mother and yourself.

Best Wishes, The Dungeon Bat.

I couldn't help but laugh out loud at his signing. I opened the bag and found a large handful of galleons inside. My eyes widened slightly and I felt my chest tighten up for a moment, but this time it wasn't out of fear or anxiety. In a way, it was good.

I ran out of my room with the bag, leaving the letter on my night stand.

"Mom!" I ran into her room and shook her shoulder to wak her up. She woke up and slowly sat up.

"What is it? What's wrong?" She questioned as she saw my frantic appearance, but my smile gave a whole other story.

"Look what I just got! It's for the both of us!" I shoved the small sack at her and she took it, she poured some of it's contents in her hand. When she saw the galleons come out her jaw dropped a bit.

"Who gave you this?" She seemed very thankful.

"Um.. my friend." I said quickly. It wasnt exactly a lie.

"Well you send them a letter soon. It better be well thought out too."

I nodded and smiled at my mom.

December 26th, 12:00 a.m.

Dear Dungeon Bat,

I thought you didn't make jokes? I'll tell you I got a good laugh out of that one if it means anything to you. I don't mind regarding you as my friend. It's an upgrade from most Slytherins.

Thank you for your gift, it was very appreciated by both my mother and I greatly. I suppose now I owe you, yeah? I'll get you a late Christmas/early Birthday gift. If I remember correctly your birthday January 10th?  I could be wrong.

Anyways, I'll see you when the term resumes. Hope the dungeons haven't been too lonely for you.

Sincerely, Your Least Favorite Student.

I handed the letter to my owl, sent her off, and went to bed with a smile on my face and after so long. A happy feeling in my chest.
