I hadn't seen Severus all day, so I opted to wait in his Potions Classroom, knowing he'd be here eventually.
I waited two hours before he finally came through the door, and he looked horrible.
"Severus, what happened to you?" I questioned, looking at him as he closed the door and limped over to me.
"Its a very long story." I noticed he had a gash on his forearm and splinters all over his clothes, specifically in his hands and in his clothes. I got out of his chair and took him in to his quarters.
"Sit on the bed and remove your top layers. I want an explanation while I patch you up." I went into the bathroom and looked around for some medical supplies, eventually finding in in a cupboard under the sink.
I came back out to find Sverus in a white dress shirt and his trousers, which I had to pause for a second to admire him in such a casual state.
I sat down across from him and rolled up his sleeve.
"Start talking." I said while wiping up the blood around the gash.
"Professir Lupin is a werewolf, and he attacked me. That's how the gash happened. I was following him down to the Whomping Willow where my suspicions of him helping Sirius Black into the castle were confirmed. Only Sirius wasn't trying to kill the Potter boy, be was trying to kill Peter Pettigrew." He explained. By now I was wrapping his arm.
"I thought Sirius Black killed Peter Pettigrew?" I asked.
"That's what everyone thought, until Peter Pettigrew turned out to be Ronald Wesley's rat. He got away again." I nodded in response and took out the tweezers and began removing splinters.
"And the splinters?"
"There's a passageway from beneath the Whomping Willow to the Shrieking Shack. The Potter boy flung me into an old wooden bed."
I sighed, still looking over his hands for any smaller and bothersome splinters.
"I know there's a reason you did all this, you wouldn't do it for no reason. So why?"
"I'll tell you that another day."
"No Severus, I want to know now." I heard a sigh from him now and I looked up at him.
"I will tell you soon enough, alright? I can't tell you yet." He held on to my hands. "I hate keeping secrets from you, truly, but you will know eventually. I promise I'll tell you everything."
"I'm holding you to that promise, Sev." I lifted his hands and kissed the back of it.

The next morning Sirius Black escaped again, this time from Hogwarts.
The year ended off as normal and nothing more happened. Lupin would not be returning next year due to his secret getting out.
Severus and I went back to his home together, and by this point we made it official I was living with him. Compared to the summer before it felt a lot less awkward. Though when we got home, I started having the same recurring nightmare every day, which when I woke up I couldn't remember what it was except for the fact that it was always the same.
Chapter very short so I'm posting later today.
