Song of the Chapter: Believe by Hollywood Undead

This was Paulene’s idea of making this bonus chapter. I'm just cleaning up the spelling mistakes.

Francisco's POV

If Jasmine dies, I would probably die with her.

I wanted to see her. But, the paramedics didn't want me to.

I didn't know where I was. I thought I was in heaven.

But I was actually sitting on a chair in the waiting room.

“You're up,” Adam told me. “The doctor wanted to do an X-ray on you, but I told him that you wanted to wait.” Adam knew I had money issues, but I would have to get some stitches. “Paulene’s doing okay. She just had surgery on her head.”

“How's--”

“And Jasmine's parents are coming from Florida and I'd overheard that her dad is super pissed.”

“Where's--”

“And Alex is in super custody--”

“Where's my girlfriend?” I asked, not knowing that I was loud. People were looking at me like I was crazy. Sorry that I'm super pissed off about everything.

“She's in a minor coma.”

The way he said felt so cold; so insincere. He knew that I wasn't going to like it. She's in a life or death situation.

“Is she going to be okay?”

“What the doctor told me is that she could be fine,” he answered.

“Could be?”

“We just have to wait. But, we can't see her. She's too fragile, just to look at. Only her parents can.”

“Where the hell are my daughters?!”

“And here's one of them now,” he added. Jasmine’s dad was a very intimidating man. Even though he was short, I think he could break me in half if he actually wanted to.

“Sir, calm down,” the receptionist told him.

“Calm down?!” He exclaimed. “I had a phone call saying that both of my daughters were in the ER. One of them was hit by a glass bottle and the other was poisoned. Now, I basically had to fly a damn plane to get here to see that they didn't die, so don't tell me to calm down!”

“Honey, they're going to arrest you.” Jasmine’s mother was taller than her dad. It looked like she wanted to scream herself, but that would be worse for the entire situation.

“I think we should do something,” Adam suggested.

“Yeah, I'd almost died today,” I said. “I'm not trying to die again.”

“Are you the parents of Jasmine Michel and the guardians of Paulene Henry?” The receptionist asked.

Guardians of Paulene? What happened to her real parents?

“Well, there's a secret that we don't know about,” Adam replied. “But you have to meet them soon enough. It's a bad time, but they're going to know who we are.”

Two police officers came to her parents, and I really thought that they would arrest her dad. They were only trying to say what had happened. One of them was Officer Jeff, the same officer that came to calm me down.

“Jeff, tell me if they're okay,” Jasmine’s mom told him. They know each other. Well, that's a small world.

“Paulene’s waking up, but Jasmine’s in a coma,” he said. “If it wasn't for these two guys, Jasmine and Paulene would've been dead by now.”
