Song of the Chapter: The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson

Recap (Jasmine's POV):

“The fact that my feelings are going to get hurt when he doesn't like me back.” Being rejected is the worst. I've been rejected plenty of times to know what's coming.

“Jasmine, he likes you,” Paulene said.

I started to laugh loudly. “That's funny.” Francisco actually liking me is like kids not knowing that Santa isn't real. I saw that Paulene wasn't laughing with me. “You're serious?” I stopped laughing when she nodded her head.

“It's totally obvious,” she said. “You just didn't realize it.”

“Paul, thanks for cheering me up but I doubt that's going to happen,” I told her.

It'll be awesome if he does like me, but he's probably looking for a girl that's skinner and have longer hair than mine.

I wouldn't bet on it for a single cent that he'll like me. And that's a promise.

Thanks for @mun2500 for the amazing cover!

The next day...

Paulene's POV

Throughout most of the day, she locked herself in her room with depressing music. The only time that she left her room is if she goes to bathroom.

I have to cheer her up somehow, but what?

I know that she loves going to the mall, but I need her to get out of the apartment.

I marched into Jasmine’s room and I realized she locked the door. After years of being in the CIA, I can easily push the door open. But this apartment is rented.

I took a bobby pin out of my hair and started to pick through the lock until I got it open.

She was lying on her bed, listening to the same depressing playlist from Spotify. I grabbed her phone and turned off the music.

She looks at me with angry eyes. “The hell are you doing?”

“You're leaving this apartment.” I walked to her closet and started to search for some clothes for Jasmine to wear. I saw a spaghetti strap blouse and immediately, I wanted her to wear it. I threw the shirt at her and it landed on her face.

“Paulene!”

I ignored her and continued to search for more clothes. It was November and it wasn't that cold out for some reason. I didn't want her to wear shorts.

“What's today’s date?” I asked her.

“I'm not talking to you.” I rolled my eyes and grabbed her phone for the date.

November 26th. Jasmine’s going to remember this day for the rest of her life.

I put her phone inside my front pocket and took a pair of skinny jeans from her closet and threw it at her. “Either you're leaving this apartment or your phone's going to the toilet.”

“You wouldn't dare.”

“I asked you nicely and you'd brushed me off.” I went on her phone and I forgot that she had a password. She smiles evilly. Easily, I had the password in a second.

Putting your celebrity crush on a password is easy.

I went on Snapchat and made a video of her. “Say hi to Snapchat, best friend.”
