What I saw earlier on Valeriano’s phone screen just made my hunch even stronger. Why would Mr. Gray texted him in the middle of the day? If he’s just an ordinary nobody for him, it doesn’t add up. They indeed shared a special relationship to one another.

Nandito na ako ngayon sa loob ng aming classroom. A minute after I saw Mr. Gray’s name on Valeriano’s phone screen, the latter arrived from the comfort room. After that, we straightly headed to each other’s building.

As expected, Valeriano just kept on facing his phone while busy doing what he is doing. I don’t know what it is. I also wondered what does Mr. Gray sent to him.

“Okay class. Fixed yourselves now,” Sir Dela Cuesta uttered, coming in from the classroom’s entrance. He then locked the door, creating a “klik!” sound.

The whole class instantly returned to each other’s seat and remained silent. The atmosphere is now covered again with a deafening silence. The “tick-tack” sound created by the footsteps of Sir Dela Cuesta’s shoes was the only noise that you can hear.

“Your first subject for this afternoon will be the Oral Communication in English Context. You are instructed here to use a permanent ballpen and strictly, NO ERASURES,” Sir Dela Cuesta reminded us, putting an emphasis with his last words.

The class was filled with “OHs” and “WHATs” when they heard what our instructor has said. Sino bang hindi mabibigla sa sinabi ni sir. We are not allowed to use our pencils and strictly no erasures. This subject needs our extra carefulness.

The noise instantly faded when Sir Dela Cuesta snapped his fingers on the air. He started to distribute the test papers to the class. Hoping that this would be easy.

As soon as the last test paper in our column reached my seat, I quickly grabbed it. It’s only a one-page test consisting 70 items. Fortunately, there is no essay questions. After I scanned it, I quickly answered it with all my might.

The last subject just ended peacefully. It was just a short examination from Miss Huellar, our 21st Century Literature instructor. It was just a piece of that I was able to answer it in just 20 minutes.

“That’s all for today. Hope that you’ve done your best in answering those 5 subjects that you’ve taken earlier. Goodbye,” Sir uttered as he bade his goodbye to us.

As soon as Sir Dela Cuesta left the room, the students started to chitchat again. No wonder why they can’t answer easily those test papers. I felt pity for their parents.

I fixed my things up and turned my direction to my seatmate. Valeriano also started to packed his things up. I was about to stand when he tapped my shoulders.

Shit! Is he going to prick me a needle with a deadly poison?

“Blue, can you wait for me here? Pupunta lang ako sa CR. Sabay na tayong umuwi sa dorm,” he said, jerking his thumb to the exit door.

What a relief! I thought he will already execute his plan against me. That’s so anticlimactic.

“Okay. Don’t take too long,” I answered dryly, taking my seat again.

“Hindi ako babae tol!” he shouted, twisting the doorknob of the exit door.

He swung the door and created a loud sound. Napapadalas na ang pagpunta niya sa CR ha? I wonder what he is going to do at that comfort room, instead from peeing and pooping.
