Chapter 24: Time is Everything

[ Naruto POV ]
The room went silent as I finished the story. I looked around the room and saw how everyone's expressions had changed.
"What happened to the boy"
I could hear anger in Tenten's voice and that made me smile.
"The redhead stole his treasure and he was murdered my the girl's friend"
"And the redhead what happened to her"
Ino's fragile voice had become stronger as she spoke.
"She latched on to another man and ended up getting kill by a monster"
I looked at everyone's faces and when my gaze fell on Neji he started talking.
"What was the point of that story"
Neji was looking a little more stable.
"It's a warning"
Shikamaru was actually paying attention.
"What"
Lee still sounds the same when he's not happy.
"It's a warning about falling in love"
Sai put his notebook on the table and showed everyone.
"The girl was one of the nine we can all agree about that"
Everyone nodded and Sai kept going.
"She fell in love with the boy and licked his blood"
He was pointing out everything he had wrote.
"That makes the girl attached to the boy for life"
They looked at me and I nodded.
"Second did lick Sasuke's blood"
Everyone understood what Sai was saying but were still confused.
"What about the illness"
Shikamaru took over Sai's explanation,
"The boy fell for another women and didn't love her back causing the illness to start"
Shikamaru turned to me,
"Is that right"
I nodded,
"That's correct"
Ino slammed her hands on the table,
"What about Sasuke. He cares"
Sai responded instead of me,
"No, his actions caused by his instinct. He doesn't know what he's feeling"
I nodded,
"That's right, he was to recognize and accept his feelings"
Everyone's facial expressions turned serious.
"How long do you have"
"Second said two months at most"
"We've got to make Sasuke remember everything in one month"
Looks like Second told Ino about the deal we made.
"That's not much time"
I covered my mouth and started coughing. All attention moved to me as a continued to cough. I took my hand off my mouth and a bloody flower fell on the table. Eyes fell on the flower and Kiba spoke first.
"This is why you never wanted to be in a relationship"
"Every one of the nine people before and now know some form of this story and all of us move cautiously when it comes to people"
I picked up the flower, placed it in my hand, and stood up.
"I'll leave you to planing"
I started heading for the door but Shikamaru stoped me.
"We need you for this"
"No you don't"
I walked out of the room and looked down at the flower.

I've always wondered why...
Why was that girl locked in the small house?
Why had the boy, who was so pure fall into greed?
And, how could the people around them not care.
Multiple times, I've asked Second for the answers to my questions but the only thing he said was,
'Look at yourself'
So I looked, I looked at the life I was living, the people around me. That's when I'd gotten my answer.
Why had the girl been locked up?
Because people were hungry for power. They saw her power are were jealous, envious, and sacred. So she could not be recognized, could not gain any social standing, they locked her up.
Why did the boy fall into greed?
It was because, he to, wanted power. He wanted to have everything. At some point every person will fall to greed. May it be good or bad, they will fall and it will cause misfortune for you.
Why did the people close to the girl not take her side?
It's because they were easily swayed. They heard what the boy was saying and believed. They saw what happened and changed. No one could confirm if what he was saying was true but what they saw was what convinced them. Not a single person listened to what the girl had to say and so, she gave up.
This happens everywhere and every time. May it be past, present, or future, there will always be people like this.
"What a cruel society we live in"

[ Ino POV ]
There's only one thing we can do to help in this situation.
"We have to get Sasuke to realize his feelings"
Shikamaru put sighed,
"His feelings are attached to his forgotten memories"
Lee was confused.
"Why do we only have a month"
Kurama added to the conversation,
"By the end of the month Naruto is going to be bed ridden"
Sai got an idea,
"That might be it"
"What"
"Sasuke took care of Naruto when he was in bed with a cold so if he's bed ridden again..."
A light bulb went off in my mind,
"He might remember something"
"That's a gamble though"
"Stop being pessimistic Shikamaru"
"He could die any moment making that plan risky"
"It's the only one we have right now"
"I'll call him"
I took my phone out of my pocket and dallied Sasuke's number. I pressed the speaker button and placed the phone on the table. All of us listen to the ring until it stoped.
"Hello"
Tenten was about to speak but Sai covered her mouth.
"Hello"
Shikamaru took out his phone and started using Google's robotic voice.
"Hello is this Sasuke Uchiha"
"Who is speaking"
"A classmate"
"May I ask for your name"
Shikamaru looked around the room and started typing again.
"Ino"
Why'd he have to use my name.
"I'll tell him now"
I muted the call on out side by pressing the button.
"Why'd you use my name"
"Because there's a higher chance he'll answers the phone if we use your name"
"We should of used Naruto's"
Shikamaru shook his head at Tenten's comment.
"He'd run straight here"
"Hello"
I unmuted us and Shikamaru used the robotic voice again.
"Are we talking to Sasuke Uchiha"
"What do you want"
Shikamaru looked over and I gave him a thumbs up. He placed the phone on the table and I began speaking.
"It's Naruto"
There was no answer and Tenten kept talking.
"He's not feeling well and none of us are able to stay with him"
"Okay"
"We wanted to ask you if you could watch him for a month"
"Hn"
I touched the mute button and I looked around.
"What does that mean"
"It just means Hn"
I looked the door and saw Naruto standing in the door way.
"Naruto"
"You think to much into it"
He sat down on a chair,
"Continue"
I unmuted us,
"Is that a yes"
"Hn"
We looked over to Naruto who put his thumbs up.
"I appreciate it"
I hung up and put the phone back into my pocket.
"So..."
I looked up and saw a smile.
"...where are you all going"
I swallowed,
"Russia"
"Okay"
Tenten was surprised,
"That's it"
He looked confused,
"Did you want me to say something else"
Kiba explained,
"We were just expecting you to yell at us"
He gave us a closed eyes smile.
"Your going to Russia for work right"
A sweat drop rolled down my face,
"Yes we are sir"
"I'm expecting some calls when your gone"
He got up and headed to the door. He grabbed the handle but he turned around. He smiled,
"Try your best not to die"
I swallowed as we all said,
"Yes sir"
He opened the door and walked out.
Choji sighed,
"He's scary sometimes"

[ Naruto POV ]
It looks like I lost all of my relaxation time this month. I sighed,
"It was my last full month"
I fell onto the couch face first. I turned to my side and coughed up a full bloody flower. I turned my body and laid on my back. I touched my throat and sighed.
"It won't be long until they start taking over my throat"
"Naruto"
I sat up and Kurama came into view coming from the hallway.
"Yeah"
He emerged from the hallway,
"Try not to stain the couches"
I fell back onto the couch,
"Yes Kurama"
I turned my head and saw the flower. I picked it up and hung it above my face.
"Maybe I should plant these"
