~REALITY + FLASHBACK

Jaden's POV

I can't sleep. I've never told anybody this before but I have Insomnia. I can never sleep,. Sometimes I imagine what it would feel like to actually sleep and drown out all the noises and the thoughts and shut down until the morning. But I can't and I never will. So at night I just lay in bed my thoughts drowning me out.

That's why I was awake so late when Alissa came down, just trying to keep myself occupied.

But, you'd be surprised how much you can get done at night. Plus Kio and Ant aren't draining the wifi with video games.

So while I'm here the only thing I can do is absolutely nothing.

THE NEXT DAY

The doctors had to do some more tests so I'm sent outside the surgery room when I see a familiar face, it's my uncle.

"Uncle Andrew." I ask and his face beams when he sees me.

"Hey Jaden, how ya doin'. Ah you look so tall now." He says trying to hug me and I do it, just to not make it awkward.

"Yeah well you would've seen me grown but you left." I scoff sitting back down. "Oh Jay I was angry but I'm back and I want a second chance, to be a part of your life again." He says and I roll my eyes coldly.

"Your only her because your sisters in hospital. You'd be back in your caravan right about now." I say blankly. "As soon as mom gets better off you go again." I add.

"I thought you'd be happy to see me." He exclaims and I shake my head. "Next time try be in my life more." I say getting up leaving him hanging.
I find a break room with a vending machine, so I get some chips and a soda eating them. I see one of the nurses come up to me holding a clipboard.

"Hello Jaden. Turns out your mother had a large piece of glass in her arm so we have just had surgery to get it removed . It seemed to go successfully as she is sleeping currently. You are free to go now as your mother should recover in a few weeks. Her arm is numb and needs some therapy so get it back to it's original strength but we are happy to report that she is ok." The nurse says and I nod in relief.
"Thanks nurse." I thank her and she nods. "She'll have to come for therapy once a week but i'm afraid she'll have to get someone to drive her since her nerve system is still terrified getting in a car let alone driving again. Luckily your uncle has offered." The nurse says and I nod. I don't have the energy to disagree or argue so I get in my car and drive to the airport, looks like I'm going back to LA.

Kio's POV- A FEW DAYS AGO- FLASHBACK

I'm waiting for Olivia to come since we're hanging out when the doorbell rings. I get up from the couch and go to it. I thought it'd be Olivia but she never knocks. I open the door to a tall man who is kinda scary he pulls down his sunglasses to a warm smile, should I be terrified and running for my life right about now?

"Hey is Jaden here i'm his brother Marcus." Marcus says and I shake my head. "No he's at the studio, why?" I ask and he shrugs. "Well I haven't seen my boy in 3 years thought it'd be a nice surprise." Marcus says and I nod. You're aloud to come in and wait." I offer and he nods and smiles walking in.

"So can you tell me a bit about Jaden? You know how he's been going?" Marcus asks and I nod explaining.

I told him that he joined Sway a while ago and I told him about everybody at Sway but when I mentioned Alissa and how close they're, like best friends, he gave me a weird look biting the end of his sunglasses.

"I want you to find out some more about this Alissa girl. And you know why all of a sudden she pops out of nowhere claiming to be Griffin's brother, it's weird don't you think?" Marcus asks and I nod.

"Well Alissa and Griffin's parents are either dead or have disappeared so Griffin kind of adopted her and she lives with us now." I say shrugging. "I need you to get more about her, I don't think they're telling the full story." Marcus says in a demanding way. "WHAT? No I'm sorry but i'm not gonna dig into their personal life to find something that probably isn't even there." I explain and he gives me a tough look, like he's trying to scare me into doing it, and it is definitely working.
"I'll pay you, big money." He explains and he gets my attention. I don't really need the money but if I don't agree he's gonna walk out here holding my head, and just my head.

"Fine." I give in and he smiles getting up. "Aren't you gonna wait for Jaden?" I ask and he shakes his head "I've done what I needed to do. But when Jaden comes back tell him I was here." He explains and I nod as he walks out the door, well that just happened.

SO NOW U KNOW BOTH THE REASONS YAYYY! Yeah basically Kio was acting weird cause Jaden's brother practically threatened him oop.

ALSO I kind of didn't really re-read this so mistakes will be made STAY WITH ME HERE.
