I sat in the library with Cedric as we studied for our final exams.  We had not spoken about the incident that had occurred a few nights before since it happened.  There wasn't anything to say, I didn't want to add salt to the wound.

In fact, as I thought about it, we had not spoken about anything other than school since that night.  We kept our relationship very professional since then.

His head slumped onto his arm, "I'm so nervous about the potions exam."

"What is Snape going to make the sixth years do?"  I asked.

"We're expected to brew one of the 20 potions we learned about this year, by memory!"

My jaw dropped, how did Snape expect any student to be able to do that.

"I just hope the potion chosen isn't Amortentia.  I completely botched that one when I tried to make it during class."

"I could help you practice.  Let's go down to the potions class to see if Snape will let us borrow some ingredients."

"Are you sure?  It's quite late."

"Would you rather fail your exam"

He shrugged and followed me outside of the library.  We walked down the flights of stairs into the Dungeons where we spotted the cold professor exiting his class.

"Professor Snape!"  I called.

He sneered.  "What do you two want?"

"Is it alright if we borrow the potions classroom for a bit?  We're trying to practice for the exams."

"Do you think I was born yesterday?"  He spat.

I started to blush, "No, you have the wrong idea..."

"Longbottom!"  He shouted at the Gryffindor walking by, "Accompany these two students in the potions classroom.  I'd rather not have the two of them in there alone."

Neville gulped, "Sir it's late, I should go to bed."

"Did I stutter?  Go."

Snape stormed away, leaving poor Neville trembling.

"Don't worry Neville, you can help us out."  I said, placing my hand on his shoulder.

"I'm terrible at potions, you probably won't want my help."

"I've heard that you are amazing at Herbology, we'll need someone to help us with the plants for our potions."

His face brightened, "Alright then.  It's not like I have much of a choice.  Which potion are we making?"

"Amortentia."  Cedric answered.

We walked inside and gently closed the door behind me.  I slammed the textbook that I had been lugging around on a desk, opening it to page 201.

"We're going to need rose thorn, peppermint, powdered moonstone, pearl dust and an Ashwinder egg."

Cedric and Neville nodded and headed for the cupboard to find the ingredients.  In the meantime, I set up the desk with a few vials, a large cauldron and three mixing sticks.

The boys came back and set the items on the desk next to the cauldron.  Cedric grabbed an Ashwinder egg and began to crack it.

"No!"  I yelled, scooping the egg yolk into my hands.

"What's wrong?"

"You're not making pancakes,"  I said cooly, "You don't need to crack the egg."
