Year 7 (Part 1)
Another summer with the Wealsey's proved to be just as eventful as the last. Harry stayed with his aunt and uncle this summer, although the Order was assigned to pick him up tonight. It was only midday, but there was something I needed to do beforehand. It took a lot of begging, but Mrs. Weasley let me go out just this once.
I trekked through a small forest and made my way to a small cottage. A house I had spent so much time in my childhood in. Sleepovers, playdates, family dinners. I remembered it all.
It was the Diggory house.
I opened the gate and walked to their backyard. It was euphoric, it had been so long since I was last here, playing tag and hide and seek. Basking in the sunlight while I'd peek at my muddy toes and green-stained knees.
Behind a few old picnic tables, an assortment of flowers was placed in front of a large gravestone.
Here Lies Cedric Amos Diggory
A brave son and loyal friend
(September 30th 1977-June 24 1995)
I knelt down next to the grave.
"Hey, Ced."
There was no answer, instead I felt a cool breeze flow past me.
"It's been quite a while, I'm sorry I haven't paid a visit."
Another breeze.
"This year is going to be different, Ced. I'm leading an army at Hogwarts, but I'm not sure if I'm cut out for it. I don't know how I'll be able to live with myself if someone in my army dies."
"I would give anything to see you again, to have you hold me, just one more time." I said as a tear fell down my cheek.
"I'm doing this all for you."
"I love you."
And with those words there was a gust of wind that almost sent me toppling backwards, and I knew that it was Cedric.
I was ready.
--
I apparated with the Order to 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey. It was a quaint little muggle neighborhood. Everything was perfectly in place, all of the lawns were mowed without a single stray grass. It was quiet and simple.
I ran inside and gave Harry a tight hug, followed by Ron and Hermione. The three of us chatted quietly. I asked them about the horcruxes, and they told me they've already got a start thanks to Dumbledore. I tensed at the sound of his name, I still felt responsible for his death.
Mad-Eye Moody (the real one this time) explained our plan to Harry, in order to protect him we would have to all pretend to be him using Polyjuice Potion, so that the Death Eaters wouldn't know which one of us was the real Harry. We'd all be separated into different safehouses and eventually make our way to the Burrow.
Harry was not happy with this, "No, no way!"
Hermione's lips pursed, "I told them you'd take it like this."
"If you think I'm going to let seven people risk their lives-"
"-Because it's the first time for all of us." Ron said.
"This is different, pretending to be me-"
Fred snickered, "Well, none of us really fancy it, Harry. Imagine if something went wrong and we were stuck as specky, scrawny gits forever."
