Youth's Ardour
Playful picnics of peanut butter & jelly dreams
in the snow, wrapped in a blanket together...
Stopping the car on a country road, making love
fast and reckless on the hood in the rain...
Forbidden adventures on high standing rocks
near the drop-off, next to the DANGER sign...
Summer pleasures in the park, eaten by mosquitoes
on every inch of our exposed, sweltering skin...
Pearl Jam blaring on the radio dial, blissfully enveloped
in each other's arms, young and wild and heedless...
A love fierce and bright as the sun, the unbridled passions
of a bygone age.
