In Search of a Dream – Return to Sender

As a youth, I played a few tricks.

There were some curveballs and nasty moments.

My life was like a scene from some delinquent movie.

Through wind, rain, and storm wandered.

The hurricane washed a broken and lonely soul up on the shore.

Another life that never mattered.

An empty carcass left out to dry.

Laid face down was no way to die.

It crawled naked through the surf and sand, in search of a dream.

The sound of a cheerful voice is an unexpected pleasure.

Raised head, saw the glow on her beautiful face.

Confused for sure, but this is love at first sight.

Everything perfect, the beach will become our home.

The pleasure expands, in no time two become four.

And for a while, this was a perfect number.

The electrifying touch of skin and affection remains, the glass is full to overflowing.

Endless night's sleep in slumber, let no man put asunder.

But one day you awake, to bloodstains.

Plans made to increase the beach house.

But the excitement was like quicksand.

After initial success, a new life was marked 'Returned, to Sender'.

The hurricane season returns to the beach and rips up the plans.

It is not long before you begin to wonder, was our castle built on sand.

Your natural reaction is to try again, but it is hard.

Whilst still coming to terms with one natural disaster.

Along came another young master, into the weeping heart.

But over the horizon, a tsunami was approaching.

One day, it went silent as the tide on the beach went out.

To be replaced by a wave of grief.

She could never return, in a moment our beautiful world, is swept away.
