My Heart Became an Anchor
My world irrevocably changed
The instant a set of amber stones met mine
Warmth coiled around my limbs like vines
Till it set ablaze a raging fire
Kindled embers I had never sired
My heart became an anchor
Hitting hard upon the ocean floor
That rippled waves far onto shore
The sound unheard by neighboring faces
But vibrations loud in innocent places.
My lungs sought the will to breathe
And I knew then my heart lay at your feet
