Suburban Dreams
Springtide summer signs,
She spent her days dreaming of plush poppies playing,
Her flute, wishing winsomely on that rusted bench crippled anew;
By counting stars and daisies, weaving through her mind wafting the scent of cherries,
Into the world of her Fantasia, thereupon the isle of Icaria;
Festooned for her heart and life his smile,
Upon the summer golden of summertime,
Of the memories that they cherished,
Of a time so long ago she would've thought to have been perished,
His honey dew eyes and nectar sweet symphony,
Still flows sentiently like a wildflower melody,
Envisioning him by her side after losing him so early in her life,
His phantom promised her soul to stay by her side,
Even after they part and in another life,
She hoped somehow he'd be there for her again,
And if only for a little while,
Underneath the lilac sky, cherry blossoms flushing in her cheeks like they did the first time,
When he had looked her way to only acknowledge her stare on the cobblestone street of 69',
Like sweetened savoury suburban dreams strumming away the pain,
Her loss was demolishing dementia synchronised in harmony as she smiled,
Whilst whistling to his favourite tunes all hunched back and over the muse reclined,
With glassy-eyes, of empyrean azure skies;
Slowly reaching out for him with her bony fingers inclined,
She lived for the two of them in her golden days of pride.
