The Garden
a still duet
in easy comfort
of life-long knowing
in extravagant tranquility
a muted rapture,
their silent commune
a ripeness
a country garden
in Autumn's last flowering
sparse-remaining White Chiffon petals
leaves just turning,
a precious promise
the advent of quiet days
winter-borne
