Ashley laughed at my reaction after we both read Xyza's text message. Hanggang sa pagtulog ko, 'yun at 'yun pa din ang iniisip ko. Hindi ko alam, pero ayoko nang umasa. Maayos na ko. I've moved on. I guess. The next morning, I arrived early at my office.
"Reign, schedule ko today?" I asked her as she was getting her tablet with my schedules in it.
"May board meeting lang po kayo mamayang 9 AM, and after lunch po may appointment po kayo with a Clothing Line." She explained while shock was visible to her face.
"Clothing Line?" I asked curiously, "Tungkol saan daw? Alam ba nila na hindi ako tumatanggap ng shoots ngayon?" I asked again, starting to get irritated.
"Yes, Ms. Solana. Pero they still insisted to talk and have a meeting with you po, baka sakaling ma-convince ka daw nila with their offers. Kaya ginawan ko na po sila ng appointment, ang kulit po kasi eh." She answered, habang nagkakamot sa ulo, smiling awkwardly.
"We'll see," I firmly answered with a grin on my lips.
At exactly 1 PM, when some people I don't recognize came inside my office. They introduced themselves as the CEO and managers of that Clothing Line, and they were asking if I could be their model for their new designs. Kesyo ako daw ang babagay para sa bagong styles nila, at dahil isa daw akong influencer. But a few minutes after the appointment, I looked at Reign with my arms crossed over my chest, wearing a dismayed expression.
"A 50% investment isn't bad, right? C'mon, agree with me, Reign." I felt so defeated while asking her, who's now slightly laughing at me, habang pinapanood na umaalis 'yung mga bisitang kausap ko kanina.
"Okay lang po 'yan, Ms. Sabi nga po kanina diba, it's a win-win situation for the both of you." She laughed a little, obviously teasing me while imitating the CEO's voice
I rolled my eyes, "Win-win my ass." Naiinis ako sa sarili ko, dagdag schedule.
Kahit naka-titig ako sa kawalan, ewan ko ba, natatawa ako sa sarili ko. Bakit hindi ko kayang tayuan 'yung mga sinasabi ko. Ang tapang-tapang ko sa una, pero kapag nandiyan na bigla akong nawawalan ng lakas. What's wrong with me?
After a week, I had a conference meeting at Osaka. I left Reign at the office dahil madami pa siyang gagawin, and Atlas was busy preparing for their wedding. Sweet. I'm alone, sanay naman ako dito. I asked for a bottle of water sa isang attendant, as I slowly looked at her from head to toe. I suddenly felt that she became conscious.
"Oh, no, don't be conscious dear. Noong bata ako gusto ko din maging katulad mo, kaso sa business ako bumagsak." I laughed a bit, "Anyway, galingan mo."
"Thank you, ma'am! If you need anything po, just call me." She smiled widely.
I slowly looked at her name on her left chest, "Thank you, Rena."
Pagkaalis niya, bigla kong naisip kung tama ba 'yung sinabi kong 'galingan mo'. Parang ang weird lang, but yeah, hindi naman siya nagreact, okay lang naman siguro.
