Lost Out of Love

Chapter 33

"Long time, no see." Axel said while eating his food, and I was just staring at my phone. 

"We just met the last week, the other day, at kaninang umaga. So what do you mean by that 'long time, no see'?" I asked without looking at him. 

I heard his slight laugh kaya napatingin ako sa kaniya, "I mean, ngayon lang tayo nakapag-usap casually. Kaya ngayon ko lang nasabi 'yon. You get what I mean?" I slowly nodded habang umiiwas pa din ng tingin. 

Pero bumalik 'yung tingin ko sa kaniya dahil sa sinabi niya, "Kung hindi ko pa hiningi kay Architect Cortez 'yung project na 'to, hindi pa tayo magkikita." He said in a low voice.

My brows suddenly furrowed. Hiningi niya? Akala ko ay may emergency lang siya kaya siya ang pumalit? "W-what do you mean?" I asked curiously. 

He looked at me and smirked again, "I nearly forgot, sabi ko nga pala kanina samahan mo lang ako kumain, kahit di ka na magsalita." He laughed a little, "Don't worry, hindi na ulit kita pagsasalitain." And continued eating.

I gritted my teeth dahil sa inis ko. Mag-oopen siya ng topic tapos kapag magtatanong ako biglang hindi siya sasagot. Ipinasok ko 'yung phone ko sa loob ng bag, and fixed my hair. I noticed he was looking at me, "What?" I asked.

"Aalis ka na? Hindi pa ko tapos kumain." He said while pointing at his unfinished food. 

"May gagawin pa ko." I answered shortly. In my peripheral view, I saw him picking up his things also, kaya I looked at his way, "Saan ka pupunta?" 

"Sasama sa'yo." He replied and stood up kahit hindi pa tapos 'yung kinakain niya.

"Anong sasama ka sa'kin?! Ubusin mo nga 'yang pagkain mo! Sabi mo gutom ka, edi kumain ka." I exclaimed, kaya napatingin siya sa'kin.

I saw how he raised his right brow at me, "Why are you being sarcastic?" 

"Am I?" Hindi ako nagpatalo, kaya nagtaray din ako, "I was just telling you to sit down and finish your food. Nasaan ang sarcasm doon?" I answered calmly.

The side of his lips rose, it was like we were in a mini fight and he felt that he was defeated so he sat down again to finish his food. I stood up for a while, pinag-iisipan kung aalis na ba ko or should I stay. 

Nagulat siya nang muli akong umupo sa upuan na kaharap niya, "I thought you're leaving?" He questioned.

"Akala ko din." I answered back, feeling ko ako 'yung natalo. "Just finish your food so I could go now." 

I saw him smirked again, and he continued his food. Oh, Solana, why are you doing this to yourself? Why are you putting yourself at risk again?

After eating, sabay kaming lumabas ng restaurant, but I distanced myself from him. And I think he noticed it, that's why he's looking at me weirdly.
