Cassy's backfiring rumor seemed to restore normal for our little group. Even though I kept expecting to hear some nasty new rumor about Alastor or me, the grapevine was quiet.

Sitting in my dorm room, Angel and I were comparing notes on our English class project. We had to read The Great Gatsby and write a report at the end. And the way it was going, our reports weren't going to be done until next year.

"I never liked English," Angel sighed, tossing his copy off to the side.

"I just don't like being told what to read," I replied, flopping back on my bed.

Angel pulled out his phone and began typing, "Isn't there a summary of this book somewhere on the internet?"

"What's Hell's version of Sparknotes?" I answered.

Angel shrugged before changing the subject, "Did you hear that prom was scheduled for next month?"

I sat back up at full attention, "What?"

Angel grinned, apparently thrilled to fill me in on something juicy that didn't involve us, "Yeah, the theme is something dumb like Starry Night or whatever. Alastor hasn't asked you yet?"

"I don't he knew either." I replied, "But knowing him, he will have something theatric planned."
