I made a beeline for my corner as soon as I got into my independent music class. Wanting some peace before the calm of dealing with Angel in pre-dance mode, I settled in my seat with my guitar and took a deep breath.

"Fortune, fortune, smiling fate

I haven't seen you much of late
Need you now and cannot wait
But wanna look, you're not around
Nevermind in what we do
The night's still good for a gram or two
I'll be drinking late with you
Until the morning comes around"

"That's a good one," Alastor said, appearing out of nowhere and plopping down in the seat next to me. I stopped and looked over at him as he opened a bottle of water.

"What's that look for?" He chuckled, taking a sip.

"Are you going to the dance Friday?" I asked, strumming a few cords idally.

Alastor looked a bit taken aback, "A few friends are dragging me to it, why?"

I smiled, feeling a little better about the dance, "Angel and Cherri are dragging me there too. Good to know I won't be the only hostage there."

Alastor grinned back at me, putting the cap back on his water, "I'll see you there then."

He stood up to go and I thought that was the end of the conversation until he turned to me and added, "Save a dance for me then."
