THE REALM...
Hazel is standing next to me. We are trying to hear what my mother is discussing inside the room beside us. I never heard my mother shout the way she did, which causes me to think that maybe there's something wrong around the kingdom.
-Don't ever speak about the agreements inside the castle. – My mother ordered, feeling disturbed.
-I'm sorry, my lady. But someone has to do something about the situation with the four realms in Far Lands. – Eve, the family counselor, spoke worriedly.
I couldn't listen to more things since Hazel took my hand and pulled me away from there. We got downstairs and quickly reached the entrance of the palace, but I stopped and stared at her, confused.
-What are you doing? We have to go back and hear what they are saying. – I stated while looking at Hazel.
-Taehyun, "The Four Realms Agreement" it's a secret inside all kingdoms, and if you want to jump into something so intense and dangerous, you'll have to learn about your Divine power. – Hazel told me, looking sober and, at the same time, concerned.
-Do you know something about that agreement? – I questioned, intrigued by her expression.
-The only thing I know it's that all of the four kingdoms of Far Lands made a deal between them, it meant their union as allies against other islands around the globe, but one of the regions betrayed the rest, making the agreement break. – Hazel disclosed while looking down at the floor. -Can we go now? I don't feel comfortable around here. – She stuttered while sniffing slightly.
I got towards Hazel before holding her chin. I made her look into my eyes, so I slightly smiled, trying to cheer her up somehow.
-Come on. I'm sorry for asking you, Reid. – I sighed, concerned before caressing her cheek.
-It's alright. Let's go to see what your new powers can make. – Hazel grinned before sighing.
I nodded before both got out of the castle. I opened the door for Hazel, but before going outside, I saw my mother looking at us severely. I rolled my eyes before following Hazel, and then I closed the door behind me as both began to walk away from there.
Mother doesn't want me to go out very often, but I have to do it since I feel trapped every time I'm inside the castle. I want to see the world, get to know places, and be with my friends. My parents don't understand that; after all, they always stick by the rules.
Rossview Icelands Kingdom – Icy Oak Forest
*Moments later*
We arrived a few hours ago. Hazel is training along with me, and as we go, both of us are practicing our spells. But unluckily for Hazel, she can't execute the innate magic of her Divine Power. Hazel comes from the Hampdows Lush Kingdom; that place is unique since the people who are born in that region can learn two different types of magic, Earth, and Water. They have two princes, Huening Kai as the youngest, and Soobin, the oldest brother. I met them a long time ago when I escaped home for the first time, and the three of us shared our stories since everybody was running away from something.
As I'm thinking about them, I can feel my heart beating fast; and my memories aligning with my emotions. I consider them as brothers, even though we are far away. I stared at my hands and realized that there was a slight sensation of coldness around them, so I closed my eyes and activated the power from the ice element.
-Now we are talking. – Hazel smiled before going towards me.
-How does this work? – I asked, confused while looking at my hands.
Hazel stared at me, amazed. I stood still as she began to softly caress the marks of magic on my skin.
-You look different. – Hazel softly spoke before getting away from me. -I don't know what I would do with that power, but I guess you have to remember some of the spells you like the most and try the energy of the Divine Power. – She suggested while getting out of my way.
-Well, my favorite spell is "Boreal Flare." – I said while moving my hands gently. -Should I try to make it? – I asked, looking at Hazel for approval.
-Go on; you got this! – Hazel cheered while crossing her arms, waiting for me to execute the spell.
I nodded before feeling the cold wind ghost my body, and then I extended my arm before drawing on the air, the symbol of the spell.
-Boreal Flare. – I murmured before stopping my hand. I targeted the tree that's a few meters in front of me, and shortly, a light blue ray filled in the symbol, making it shine brighter. Suddenly, the light elevated to the sky and hit the tree from above.
What the heck was that?
I couldn't believe what just happened, but I could hear Hazel clapping happily. Yet, I closed my eyes and deactivated the ice element.
-That was awesome! – Hazel shouted, amazed.
I chuckled before shouting along with her and then ran to Hazel's spot. She faced me and laughed since, after that, she ran away from me. I followed Hazel as both began to laugh at one another. We fooled around until I felt that we were getting into unknown places in the forest.
I looked around only to see where I came from, but that second made me lose sight of Hazel. Immediately, I began to panic and stared at the surroundings, trying to find any sign of Hazel.
-Come out, Reid. You won't scare me this time. – I chuckled as I waited for Hazel to reply, but some seconds passed, and she didn't answer back. -Reid? – I said, confused while I began to look around me.
-Reid! It isn't funny! – I shouted while walking through the woods. -I know I did the same thing when we went to the Artic Shallows, but I apologized! – I said while looking around, becoming worried by every second.
I was about to shout again, but when I felt someone holding me from behind while laughing, I left everything aside and turned around. Instantly, I hugged Hazel tightly against me while trying to calm down.
-I'm here. – Hazel laughed while hugging me back.
-Hazel, don't do this to me again. Please! – I said, concerned while breathing heavily.
-Hey, Taetae. It's alright; I was playing around. – Hazel assured me while caressing my back.
We stared back at each other, and then I held her cheek before kissing Hazel's forehead. She stood in shock for some seconds, but after that, she just laughed and stroke my hair.
-Sometimes, you get so worried about me; you should pause from time to time, you know. – Hazel teased, making me chuckle slightly.
-You are clumsy; that's why I got scared of losing you in the woods. – I stated before taking her cheeks playfully.
-Yah! I'm not that clumsy! – Hazel complained.
I chuckled at her cute expression, but suddenly, both of us heard horses running fast. I got apart from Hazel as both walked closer to the road of the woods. And we stared through some bushes at the horses. I immediately noticed that those horses were from the royal knights' team, which made me worry since they were riding so quickly to the principal city.
-What's going on? – I asked, confused.
-Do you think someone came inside from another kingdom? – Hazel asked, concerned.
-I don't know. It's better if we found out. – I said, still looking at the knights riding towards the city.
-No, Taehyun. Your father is there. – Hazel worriedly reminded me.
-Reid, we both know what's going to happen if my father sees a person from another kingdom. And I have to do something about it. – I said seriously.
-I won't let you go alone, so let's go. – Hazel sighed before we started to walk to the deeper part of the Icy Forest again and then started to take the shortcut to Northwall.
