Lily's POV

My mind wasn't at work completely, one thing kept lingering on my mind and that is who this scar man or even woman is.

I started looking at everyone with suspicious eyes.

Looking beautiful as always.

Whoever said that must know me or was it just a compliment or a mere sentence to make me have thoughts like these.

And who knew taking the rest of the day off could give you such a comeback, well I knew, since It had me working non stop all day and it's almost my closing time but there's still a lot of work piling up.

"Lily". Someone snapped a finger in front of my face.

I pulled out of my trance and looked at the person in front of me.

"Come downstairs now, that pretty woman that comes to see Mr David is here with an announcement." Chloe informed.

"Oh..okay" I managed to say.

"Are you okay?"

"I think so" I mustered a weak smile.

She took my hand and we made our way downstairs. Everyone  gathered around at the big space in front of the buildings entrance.

"She's always bossy" Chloe whispered eyeing the woman.

"She's the boss's co_worker". I corrected "Let her be bossy".

She snort. "More like his babysitter".

I chuckled silently.

"Ladies and gentlemen, am afraid this couldn't wait that's why I had to excuse you from your work chambers. Your boss and the owner of this fine company had some really urgent work to take care of so he won't be in office for a few months from now". She stopped for dramatic effects.

"I will be taking his place of course and along with me the new managing director, please welcome MISS VENESSA  LANE".

People started applauding as Venessa entered from the door, the same Venessa from highschool, the same Venessa of the mean chicks, the same Venessa lane standing in front of me after five freaking good years.

She walked in with a smile wearing a cigarette trouser, a top and a blazer. Her blonde hair hasn't changed a bit, just more thicker than I remember. And she's more taller and thinner now.

My eyes widen and I stood there like a statue staring at her, she came to stand in front of the woman with a big smile.

When our eyes meet, there was a spark in her eyes but her smile didn't falter in almost a minute then she suddenly frowned.

She walked Infront of me with an astonished look, she scanned me from up to down and what she did next shocked me to the core.

"Lily cruise"she called, hugging me tightly.

"It's been so long, you have changed so much. Just look at you" .she said with surprise visible in her eyes and tone as she pulled away.

I didn't hug her back nor spoke a single word but stare.

"OMG!!" She hugged me for the second time.

Don't blame me I didn't know what to do or what to say, after five years. My one and only known enemy showed up and hugged me. And what, am I going to hug her back or what?

"You know her?" My new boss asked coming forward.

"Know her, we were best friends in highschool". She just lied to my face and smiled doing it.

My jaw dropped. What the f*

She turned and dismissed everyone before turning to me.

"Wow, what a coincidence". The new boss clapped her hands together in amusement.

"I know right!, It's so freakish, I missed her so much". Venessa said and winked at me.

I quickly cleared my throat "excuse me" I said and went back to my work place.

Can this day get any worst?.

My heart was racing and I was starting to feel hot, I am going to work with Venessa lane from now on.

I never thought I would ever see her again, why her?, Why me? What the heck is this?, Why am I getting tested like this?.

Yes, you are right! I am not the same Lily anymore and I will face whatever comes my way because now I can fight back and i won't let anyone mess with me.

I tried to shake the fact that I just saw Venessa lane in my work place outta my mind but it was impossible.

I started working again trying to concentrate. Just when I thought I had everything under control.

She walked in and sat Infront of me.

I tore my eyes off the computer and lay them on her, she smirked, the knowing smirk that I would never get tired of slapping off her..really smooth face.
