"What are you talking about?" Lily asked the doctor in a shocked tone.

"What am saying is the woman is related to you by blood".
The doctor repeated.

"Woman?"
She questioned no one in particular and looked at me, her voice sounds unbelieving.

"I want to see her"
she said and got up. I did too, the fact that what I just heard could be the truth and that the woman lily donated blood to could actually be her relative left me speechless.

"Come with me" the doctor took the lead and we followed, we got into the elevator and arrived at the third floor. And went down the hall a little to the sixth room.

I know so many things were going on in Lily's mind, she couldn't even walk right, she walked slower than a tortle. I have also never asked her where her mom is, maybe because the need never arises. The curiousity building up in couldnt be described.

The doctor knocked on the room and went in. Lily stood behind me not moving an inch, when I turn to her she avoided my eyes and walked pass me into the room, I followed.

The woman was lying in bed, her forehead and arm are bandaged and the blood is replaced with an  IV fluid.

We stood like statues staring at her, I slowly reach out and held onto Lily's hand, I could feel her slightly trembling.

"Mrs tombson, this is the girl I told you about".
The doctor informed her and her eyes quickly travelled to me and they widen.

"Doctor..."

"Am sorry but it's my duty and her right to know." He cut her off,
He checked her vitals and excused himself.

I remember this woman, she's the same woman we met at the ice cream parlor, she disappeared from there as soon as lily said her name. Could she have Known who lily was?, And that's why she ran away?.

"You"
lily said and stepped closer to her.

"You are..." She squeezed a brow and ran a hand through her hair.

"You are....aren't you laurence mother?" She asked, I didn't know what to do or think at the time, I became completely out of words, i stood where I was without saying a single word. What if the doctor is wrong? But why did she run away from Lily? And why did she tell the doctor not to say anything?.

"If you are Laurence mother then  how can we be related. I don't know her bc" she turned to me "what is the doctor even saying"l?".
She looked so confused and shocked at the same time, it's like she's running away from what and where this is heading to.

"I am Laurence's mother"
The woman finally spoke sitting upright, her eyes are watery and her face is humorless.

"But I am also your mother" she added and lily stumbled, I caught her.

"I don't need anyone or a report to tell me you are my daughter because I...."

"No, keep quiet, don't you dare say such a filthy thing ever again".
Lily yelled.

The woman started crying.

"This is a mistake, this is madness, it's a big mistake". lily yelled again running both her hands in her hair with tears falling from her eyes. I held on to her carefully.

"Am sorry" she said while sobbing, Lily walked out in a huff.

"You are her mother" I let out unbelievably and the woman raised her eyes to look at me, I shook my head, I had alot to say but I wasn't gonna say it now. We aren't even sure if the woman hasn't gone crazy or the doctor is talking nonsense. I went after lily quickly.

She has already reached the elevator, I had to quicken to catch up with her. She hugged her self running her hand through her hair every now and then fighting the tears that are already in her eyes and sniffing every now and then. I pulled her into me and caged her tightly.

We rode the elevator in silence, when we stepped out of the hospital. The driver was still waiting for us, I have forgotten completely about them. I held lily close with my hand on her back as we walked to the car.

Grey kept asking her what was wrong, I got tired and eyed him, he kept shut. When we reached home she got out silently and walked to her room, the lily I knew would stay to help aunt out and try to convince ma too but something took her away tonight. I understand and I will be with her every step of the way. I don't know what is going on or what is right, I don't believe it even though I can't help but believe it too.

Lily has some of her feature which are easily noticeable. How can I not believe that she's Lily's mother.

"Rick, what are they doing here?" Ma asked when we stepped into the house.

So many things have happened today and am just so tired mentally and physically. I cannot go through anymore stress so I said.

"Ma please, it's my decision they stay here. Am very tired, can we talk about this tomorrow?" The look on my face shows that am really tired and not ready for any drama.

"Fine" she said and I sense annoyance.

"For your sake" she added and walked away. I let out a heavy breath and called a maid to help them settle.

*Next morning*

The house and air are dense and silent like the night I just hardly overcame. It wasn't usually like this. It's either the footsteps and indistincts talk of the maid or ma calling on me or even lily knocking on my door.

There's just silence.

I exhale, my chest rise and fell drawing my already wondering mind to the beating of my heart.

It plays only one rethym

Whatever is going on with lily, I cannot bear to see her like that.

I got up lazily ignoring the pounding of my head and the ache of my body screaming for some good sleep.

I brushed my teeth and took a good bath hoping to hear some movements in the house after but nothing.

I sigh and wore a sweatpants with a black T, I went and knocked on Lily's bedroom door.

Silence.

I knocked again and called her name but no response I grab the door knob and push it open only to find lily standing infront of me with a suitcase.
