A Big Idea

Across the hardy, oft-used grapevine, for those in-the-know Edenvillers, raced the latest gossip: Olde Junk Roadshow might film an episode in Edenville!

Millicent Peed had interviewed anyone she could, but hard news was scarce. A whisper here, a clue there... but everyone was already day dreaming about the possible wild worth of their family's olde junk .

Twila couldn't get Ted... Ted the Shrunken Head out of HER head. She even took the precautionary step of putting him in a wooden box, and slipping the box under the tiki bar... where she could keep an eye on him.

Mayor Maynot went back and forth between his authentic Polynesian grass skirt, his wife's gold bodice pin, or the Maynot Family Genealogical Record, dating back to Charlemagne....which included a note from King Henry 8, to his head chef (Saul Manella) requesting only the swan breast meat for his meal.

Tom was in a pickle. Almost everyone knew he rented a simple second flight up from Mr. Fudge. The only things he kept there were a bed, dresser, chair, and radio.

His secret collection of souvenirs he kept arranged on the glistening ledges deep under Edenville in his favorite grotto.
He often sat on the edge of a damp ledge in his most secret grotto and watched the lamplight, and gentle blue waves, light up a lifetime of purloined treasures from all over the world.

Meanwhile, Dobbs penned a note to Ms Mae Kitpay, producer for Olde Junk Roadshow, with an invitation to film a segment in Edenville along with an erstwhile lover's plea.
It took him quite a long time to construct just the right tone... after all... when they had last parted, there were hard feelings involved.

Dear Mae,
I hope your memory of me is not so dark that it will prevent you from considering the small town of Edenville as a possible venue for Olde Junk Roadshow.
May I presume to harbor high hopes that I mayvisit you soon and share a probable benefit for both of us in such a venture?

I have taken a residence in Edenville - a grand Victorian I could not resist - so I thought that, when I return to the city to gather the rest of my lovelies, possibly you would do me the honor of taking you to dinner.

Before you decline, please allow me to introduce you to quite a singular town... I think the folks here might surprise you.

I will be in touch, shortly, to let you know when I will be in the city. It's my sincere hope that we can put the past behind us and resume our friendship.

With affection and high hopes, I remain as always, Respectfully yours,

Porter ( buttercup) Dobbs
